SAN FRANCISCO: LEA SALONGA AT FEINSTEIN'S

Recognized the world over for her powerful voice and perfect pitch, Lea Salonga, the singer and actress known for her Tony Award winning portrayal of Kim in Miss Saigon, performs at FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063) on Thursday through Sunday at 8:00 pm (7:00 pm on Saturday & Sunday). Her other accolades include the Olivier, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards. Other favorite musical theatre performances include Flower Drum Song on Broadway and in Los Angeles and CATS in Manila. She was the first Asian to play Eponine in the musical Les Miserables on Broadway before returning as Fantine in the 2006 revival. Lea has continued to celebrate the music of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonerg, the creators of Les Miserables and Miss Saigon, by participating in the recurring concert, "Do You hear the People Sing" with other renowned artists worldwide. Recently, she was seen in God of Carnage in Manilla, Phillipines and Singapore and she earned a Craig Noel nomination for Outstanding Featured Performance in a Musical for Allegiance, a production at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre, developed by legendary actor George Takei about a Japanese-American family forced into an internment camp during World War II. Fans of all ages may also recognize Lea Salonga as the singing voice of Princess Jasmine from Aladdin and Fa Mulan in Mulan and Mulan II. For her portrayal of these beloved characters, the Walt Disney Company bestowed her with the honor of "Disney Legend."bLea has toured the world performing in sold out concerts in iconic venues. She made her club debut at New York's Cafe Carlyle in 2010 and released a live version "Lea Salonga: The Journey So Far," her 26th CD which rose to the #3 spot on the I Tunes Jazz Chart. She recently wrapped a tour with Il Divo and when she is not singing herself, she is a coach of the Phillipine version of "The Voice." Call for cover/minimum information.
