NYC: MASON AT MAMA'S IN MARCH

Way back in 1982 DON'T TELL MAMA(343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) opened in the Manhattan Theater District on Restaurant Row. Two legendary cabaret stars opened the room - Karen Mason and the late Nancy LaMott. And now, 32 years later, Karon Mason returns for MARCH IS CABARET MONTH with her show MASON at MAMA'S in MARCH! Karen will perform every Sunday and Monday in March at 7:00 pm starting on Sunday & Monday, March 1st 7 2nd. Karen's new show features fresh arrangements of classics, new songs and music she and her longtime composer/ arranger Brian Lasser performed in the early days at Mama's. Musical Director is Christopher Denny and the show is directed by Barry Kleinbort. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: CELIA BERK RETURNS TO THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Celia Berk returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Saturday, March 28th at 1:00 pm; and Sunday, March 29th at 9:30 pm. Her first solo New York engagement was warmly received and included sold out performances. Directed by Jeff Harnar, with Musical Direction by Alex Rybeck, the show features songs from her debut album - You Can't Rush Spring - and what Celia calls her "hidden gems: lesser-known songs from great songwriters." You Can't Rush Spring, was released on May 14, 2014 and is available on iTunes, CDBaby.com, Amazon, Spotify and Pandora. It is arranged and conducted by Alex Rybeck and co-produced by Tony Award-winning sound designer Scott Lehrer. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: CHERYL SZUCSITS - CROSS OVER TO THE CABARET SIDE

Chicago's Cheryl Szucsits brings her show 'Cross Over to The Cabaret Side' to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, March 29th at 7:00 pm. "Cross Over To The Cabaret Side" gives you the answers to the burning questions you didn't even know you had about crossover hits encompassing genres from country to pop to rock and more. All the songs in the show have had multi-chart success in the U.S. and beyond. After several years of fulltime regional musical theatre playing a wide variety of roles from "Glinda the Good Witch" to "Mayzie LaBird" to "Mazeppa the Stripper" and everything in between, Cheryl settled in Chicago and right into a three year stint with Tony and Tina's Wedding at Piper's Alley. During her time with the show she played four rotating roles and sang back-up for Frankie Avalon. She has also done Tony and Tina's with the New York touring cast, giving her the opportunity to work with the original creators/writers of the show. Since leaving Tony and Tina's, Cheryl has been performing primarily as a cabaret artist and serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors of CCP (Chicago Cabaret Professionals). In addition to performing at the annual CCP Galas at the Park West, she has directed and/or appeared in numerous CCP March Series and Holiday cabarets and has also appeared at venues such as Drury Lane Water Tower, Davenports Piano Bar & Cabaret, Skokie Theatre and The Cab Room at Stage 773 on Belmont. Always happy to be able to combine her love of cabaret/musical theater with her love of comedy/improv, Cheryl also appeared in the cabaret murder mystery, "Murder at the Mette" at the Wilmette Theatre, the original sketch musical "The Mighty Ted" at Donny's Skybox at Chicago's Second City and its expanded full musical version for six weeks at MCL (Musical Comedy Live) Theatre this past fall. She has done several original solo shows in Chicago, "Borrowed Time: The Music of Nancy LaMott", "All About Eydie" tribute to Eydie Gorme, "As Long As I Can Sing" and "Cross Over the Cabaret Side". After two very successful encores of "All About Eydie" in Indiana and Chicago, Cheryl headed over to the Acorn Theater in Three Oaks, Michigan to share the stage with Laura Freeman and Beckie Menzie in "It's My Party - Girl Groups of the 60's" and "American Bandstand: The Music of Our Lives". She will be seen next at The Victory Garden Theater as part of The Chicago Cabaret Professionals' Musical Mondays series in "The British are Coming to Broadway" in April. In addition to singing, she performed for the past two years in Chicago and the surrounding areas, for the Jest Murder Mystery Company which is based in St. Louis. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: COLE ESCOLA IS THE FIRST GAY PRESIDENT

After selling out every show last year, alt-comedy star Cole Escola brings his smash hit one-man sketch show "Cole Escola is the First Gay President" back to New York where it belongs, at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Saturday & Sunday, March 28th & 29th at 9:30 pm. Each show is a completely new hour of entertaining material. Comedian, writer, and mega-talent Cole Escola creates and performs a brand-new evening of sketches and characters every month in his live solo show that has continued to sell out since last November. It's garnered celebrity buzz and media coverage from a full-page feature in TimeOut New York to a tweet from Lena Dunham. Irreverent, unique, and actually funny, Cole's talents have landed him roles on TV shows such as "Nurse Jackie," Law & Order," "Smash," and his own cult-hit sketch comedy show "Jeffery & Cole Casserole." Cole Escola is the First Gay President will become a part of history. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SALON SUNDAYS AT ETCETERA ETCETERA: "COME HELL OR HIGH WATER - SONGS OF URGENCY"

SALON - that unique, Multiple Award Winning, Weekly Open Mic Event, created and hosted by Mark Janas continues at ETCETERA ETCETERA (352 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-399-4141) on Sundays from 7:00 to 10:30 pm (sign-up begins at 6:15 pm). Salon is an ongoing open entertainment event in which singers, writers and musicians share their talent with each other and audience members. The optional theme for Sunday evening March 29th is "Come Hell Or High Water – Songs Of Urgency" Co-Host will be Co-Host will be Ira Lee Collings. Remember, any material, on or off theme, is always welcome at Salon. There are no reservations; seating is on a first come/ first served basis, with one intermission. There is a $10 cash cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

NYC: LATE WITH LANCE! WITH PETER MICHAEL MARINO

Peter Michael Marino s newest old creation, Late with Lance! , has returned and will be performed at the TRIPLE CROWN UNDERGROUND(330 Seventh Avenue, NYC) on Sunday, March 29th at 7:00 pm. Meet Lance ... delusional cruise ship entertainer, celebrity stalker and pathological musical theater fanatic. After a 15-year hiatus from the cabaret world, Lance is back in town with his own brand of variety talk show. He s invited Liza Minnelli, Hugh Jackman and Miami Sound Machine to be on his show - and that s surely bound to happen. This solo show/talk show spoof with a musical theater twist features original song parodies, The Sound of Music performed in five minutes, an homage to the film Fame, and many more ridiculous surprises. Lance has suffered for his art. Now it s your turn. Peter Michael Marino is the performer and creator of Lance Jonathan s critically acclaimed cabaret spoofs All About Me! and More About Me! - which rocked the cabaret circuit in the mid-90s and led to a Back Stage Bistro Award for Outstanding Achievement and a number of MAC Award nominations. He is also the creator of Desperately Seeking the Exit which toured the world for over two years and recounted his tale of writing the flop Blondie musical Desperately Seeking Susan. NYC: BIRDLAND JAZZ PARTY With NATALIE DOUGLAS - EVERY SUNDAY

Natalie Douglas takes over the reins of the internationally renowned Birdland Jazz Club's "Jazz Party With Natalie Douglas" every Sunday night at 6:00 pm at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) . Joining Douglas will be her band, led by longtime musical director Mark Hartman. "Jazz Party" has most recently been hosted by Grammy-nominated vocalist Jane Monheit. Douglas, the seven-time MAC Award and Backstage Bistro Award Winner, has garnered rave reviews for her unique mix of jazz, blues, standards, pop, folk and country music. This past June, she received the 2014 Margaret Whiting Award onstage at Carnegie Hall from the Mabel Mercer Foundation & My Ideal Music. In September 2014, Natalie's portrait was added to the Birdland Jazz Club Wall of Fame. Her recent performances include concerts across the U.S. (Carnegie Hall, Birdland, Cafe Carlyle, and The Appel Room - formerly The Allen Room - at Lincoln Center) and across three continents (Montenegro, Greece, Corsica, Puerto Vallarta, London, Buenos Aires, Cancun & Germany.) In a Greenwich Village tradition, she also performs an annual New Year's Eve collaboration with Mark Hartman at the Duplex. Her solo recordings include her debut CD, Not That Different - which was nominated for a 2000 MAC Award for Outstanding Recording - and To Nina ... Live At Birdland, a concert recording of her one-woman show, To Nina: A Tribute to Nina Simone. Both CDs, available at iTunes and other outlets, continue to be featured on NPR and Sirius XM Radio.
