NYC: AN EVENING OF GARLAND: THE SONGS OF JUDY GARLAND

On Sunday, December 28th at 4:00 pm some of cabarets most talented performers will celebrate The Life and Music of Judy Garland at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). Produced by Award winning cabaret producer Joseph Macchia an Evening Of Garland will feature Kristoffer Lowe, Lauren Stanford, Billie Roe, Marla Green, Lisa Yaeger, Christine Aranda, Karen Fitzgerald, and Ricky Ritzel. The evening will feature some of Judy's biggest hits as well as some obscure ones. From Somewhere Over The Rainbow To Purple People Eater Judy Garland sang them all. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: VALERIE DUKE - A STANDARD EVENING

Valerie Duke, a native of Chattanooga, TN, and an alumna of Chattanooga High School Centre for Creative Arts (CCA) where she majored in Musical Theatre, will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, December 28th at 7:00 pm. In 2005, Valerie traveled to South Korea with CCA's Choo Choo Kids to represent the United States at the Gangneung International Arts Festival. In May of 2010 Valerie auditioned for the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra under the direction of Larry O'Brien, and at the age of 23 was asked to join the prestigious ensemble. It was with the Glenn Miller Band that she toured America, Canada and Japan. After the tour she was asked to join the Brad Walker Orchestra and was their vocalist for two years. In February of 2013 Valerie sang alongside Greta Matassa and Hedreich Nichols at the 7th Annual All Angel's Jazz Festival. In February of 2014 she was the featured vocalist for The Chattanooga Symphony and Opera's "Big Band Fever." There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED AT 54 BELOW

A celebrated New York event since 2010, the Bistro Award-winning series Sondheim Unplugged returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Sunday, December 28th at 7:00 pm. The show features some of Broadway and cabaret's most dynamic voices, accompanied by piano only. Expect tunes from A Little Night Music, Company, Into the Woods, Follies, Passion, Dick Tracy and more. Past special guests have included original Sondheim cast members such as Len Cariou, Victoria Mallory, Donna McKechnie & Chip Zien - so you never know who might drop in. Sondheim Unplugged is hosted by series creator Phil Geoffrey Bond, who will fill the audience in on Sondheimien facts, history & assorted tidbits of theatrical lore! Come join the party! There is a $30-$65 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: ASPECTS OF ANDREW: LLOYD WEBBER AT 54 BELOW

54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551 ) salutes the artistry of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, the celebrated composer who has left an indelible mark on Broadway, the West End & popular music on Sunday, December 28th at 9:30 pm. Cats. The Phantom of the Opera. Evita. Jesus Christ Superstar. Starlight Express. Sunset Boulevard. Aspects of Love. Song & Dance ... the list goes on. Featuring a rotating cast of some of Broadway and cabaret's best, Aspects of Andrew runs the gamut from the humor of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and By Jeeves, to the high-flying (adored) diva tunes that populate some of the most beloved musicals of the past half century.
