PALM SPRINGS, CA: JEROME ELLIOTT BRINGS NEW SHOW PALM DESERT

Local Palm Springs area singer and actor Jerome Elliott presents his new show 'Up In Flames' to THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER (73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731) on Sunday, July 27th at 2:00 pm. His longtime accompanist and collaborator Charlie Creasy will join him onstage, with a special appearance by Keisha D, Elliott's duet partner for the past two years. The show is presented as part of Les Michaels' Sundays In Summer Series. Up in Flames is Elliott's seventh original cabaret show since 2008, following such critically acclaimed shows as Bat Out of Jersey, A Dry Heat, Crawling Back to Broadway, and Sweet Nerd of Youth. Jerome Elliott won a 2013 Desert Theatre League Award for his performance in Standing on Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays at the Annenberg Theater (Keith Coleman Productions). A prolific cabaret performer and writer, he has taken his critically acclaimed one-man shows to major cabaret venues in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Diego, and St. Louis. In 2008 Jerome was one of 36 singers selected from international auditions for the Sixth Annual International Cabaret Conference at Yale University. LOS ANGELES: PEGGY KING AT CATALINA JAZZ CLUB

Peggy King, one of the most popular TV and recording stars of the 1950's, will make her first Los Angeles appearance in more than 30 years at CATALINA JAZZ CLUB (6725 West Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, CA - 323-466-2210) on Sunday, July 27th at 7:30 pm. Joining her will be acclaimed pianist, harpist and vocalist Corky Hale, leading an all-star quartet including Lymon Medeiros on bass and Jack LeCompte on drums. King was re-discovered last year in the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning film "Behind the Candelabra," in which Michael Douglas and Matt Damon are seen watching her perform "When Liberace Winks at Me" from a 1955 video performance, accompanied by the real Liberace. The song went viral and is included on the Elektra soundtrack album. Since then, King has been performing with great success at such New York clubs as 54 Below and the Metropolitan Room. OAKLAND, CA: THE KELLY PARK BIG BAND AT THE SOUND ROOM

The Kelly Park Big Band will perform at THE SOUND ROOM (2147 Broadway, Oakland, CA - 415-994-3501) on Sunday, July 27th at 5:00 pm. This Sunday the show will specialize in New Tunes! They will have an original composition from Stephen Saxon, one from Guido Fazio, and a new one from Kelly himself! They will also be joined by special guest bassist Brandon Essex. SAN FRANCISCO, CA: FORBIDDEN BROADWAY: ALIVE AND KICKING! AT FEINSTEIN'S

FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063) will present Forbidden Broadway: Alive and Kicking!, the wickedly funny parody of Broadway's biggest shows and brightest stars, for a limited three-week engagement, Thursdays through Sundays, July 10th through 27th. Showtimes are Thursdays & Fridays at 8:00 pm and Saturdays & Sundays qt 7:00 pm. Written and created by Gerald Alessandrini, Forbidden Broadway: Alive and Kicking! is filled with satirical vignettes of recent Broadway hits, including The Book of Mormon, Once, Newsies, and Les Miserables to name a few, as well as send-ups of Catherine Zeta Jones, Matthew Broderick, Patti LuPone, and Mandy Patinkin, among others. There is a $45-$60 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.
