MANHATTAN: MARTIN BOWE & JOHN BUHTA WITH BAND PRACTICE

Martin Bowe & John Buhta present "Band practice" atTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, March 6th at 7:00 pm. The show is a benefit performance for the Wildlife Conservation Society to help save the endangered African Forest Elephant. John and Mart met at the New York City Law Department a few years back, and discovered a common love of music. Lawyers by day and band mates by night, they play a mix of pop, standards, rock and show tunes. Both will be playing guitar and singing. Not able to resolve the dispute about whether they were "rehearsing" (Mart) or having "band practice" (John), they named their act Band Practice, for which they rehearse. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

MANHATTAN: JOAN RIVERS: LIVE IN TIMES SQUARE!

Comedy legend Joan Rivers returns with her her live stand-up act to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Wednesday & Thursday, March 5th & 6th at 8:00 pm. Rivers presents an evening of her newest and most outrageous riffs on Hollywood, pop culture, celebrities, reality TV and award show fashions. Rivers delivers a raunchy, politically incorrect evening of stand-up comedy. A full dinner menu and bar are available, and pianist Will Hall plays from the time doors open until Joan takes the stage. Net proceeds going to Joan Rivers' favorite charities: God's Love We Deliver and Guide Dogs for the Blind. A full dinner menu and bar are available. "Every Thursday night, as the curtains fall on Broadway, Host Ben Cameron (from Broadway's Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and his crew of amazingly talented folks welcome a new Broadway star to perform at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) at 10:30 pm in this fun and zany musical theater variety show. This week's Special guest Star: TONY Award Winner Patine Miller, best known for originating the role of disco diva wannabe Deloris Van Cartier in the 2009 West End and 2011 Broadway productions of Sister Act. She is currently starring as the Leading Player in the 2013 revival of Pippin for which she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Seth's weekly interview show always features stars, soon-to-be stars and folks behind the scenes of the musical theater stage - for just a $10 cover - 2-drink minimum. NYC: CAROLE J. BUFFORD WITH VINCE GIORDANO & THE NIGHTHAWKS

Carole J. Bufford brings her new show 'Speak Easy" to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Thursday, March 6th at 7:00 pm. The show is a celebration of the music made famous during America's Prohibition (1920-1933) and features Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks (the Grammy Awarding-winning Jazz Age band of Boardwalk Empire fame). With classics from the Great American songbook made famous by the likes of Sophie Tucker, Al Jolson, Bessie Smith, Louis Armstrong, Annette Hanshaw, and more, this musical extravaganza features musical direction, arrangements, and orchestrations by Larry Lees. Join Carole as she travels back to a time where flappers, vamps and sheiks were shimmying in gin joints as a whirl of great social and political change happened all around them. MANHATTAN: GHOSTLIGHT: THE SONGS OF MARTIN & REALBUTO

Ghostlight: The Songs of Martin & Realbuto will be presented at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Thursday, March 6th at 9:30 pm. The show is an evening of songs from the Broadway-bound musical Ghostlight, recently a hit at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, as well as other songs by the popular up-and-coming writing duo of Tim Realbuto and Matthew Martin. Tim and Matthew are joined by Mandy Gonzalez, Jason Gotay, Christina Sajous, Trevor McQueen, Kimberly Faye Greenberg, Abigail Ludrof, Natascia Diaz, Jenna Leigh Green and more, as they celebrate the future of Broadway and also pay homage to music of the past. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

MANHATTAN: LATE NIGHT: ELIZABETH SWADOS' GUNS

54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) presents GUNS on Thursday, March 6th at 11:30 pm as part of their Late Night Series. GUNS is a dark, funny, difficult, uproarious cabaret that takes on the issue that this country is addicted to - weapons that kill instantly. With original songs by students and graduates of NYU, who comprise a musical theatre meets grunge-rock band, they cover every aspect of our country's relationship to the weapons that identify our violent core. Extremely funny, while also very scary, and at times tragic, this piece uses theatre to confront this very topical issue. The cast includes: Anna Bianco, Sam Finn Cutler, Jon Garrity, Alex Gibson, Katie Looney, Elliot Morse, Rachel Music, Jay Reed, Nick Rivera & Jon Sokolow, and the piece is conceived and directed by Elizabeth Swados (Runaways, Doonesbury). It was begun as a project at NYU Tisch School of the Arts Drama Department and now has grown into its own identity and fire. There is a $10 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.
