MORE CABARET EVENTS TONIGHT IN NEW YORK CITY

MORE CABARET EVENTS TONIGHT IN  NEW YORK CITY

NYC: KIM COLES: OH BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!

After a sold out run in February, Kim Coles, the hilarious star of hit TV shows Living Single, Frasier and In Living Color, will return to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) with her acclaimed one-woman show OH BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!. Written and performed by Kim Coles and directed by Scotch Ellis Loring, this limited engagement will be presented for five performances only, on Friday through Sunday, October 11th, 12th & 13th at 7:30 pm. OH BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! chronicles the ebb and flow of Kim Coles' showbiz rise with Hollywood-insider stories, multi-media features and even an interpretive dance number! After Fox's groundbreaking hit comedy Living Single got cancelled, Kim realized that nothing compares to the free food, personalized parking space, and sweet perks of showbiz success. As pilot seasons came and went and residual checks all got spent, she had to breakdown in order to break through and find true meaning beyond the glitz and glam of the red carpet. With her signature sass and smile and irrepressible, goofy charm, Kim presents a side-splitting show that will make you laugh and inspire you, too. Call for cover/minimum information.

NYC: TONY DESARE UPDATES THE G.A.S. AT 54 BELOW

Singer/pianist Tony DeSare will perform at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Friday & SaturdaySaturday, October 2nd & 3rd at 7:00 pm and 10th & 11th at 8:00 pm. Tony's brand new show celebrates the genius of writers who have expanded the Great American Songbook in recent times like Ray Charles, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Carole King and Michael MacDonald, as well as 'adopted' American songwriters like Paul McCartney, Elton John and Barry Gibb. Everyone knows the brilliance of the Great American Songbook - which has been performed for many years, and in many different ways. But that songbook has expanded beyond 1955 - and now is the time to celebrate other writers who have created iconic music in the past half century. As always, Tony will have some exciting new material of his own, and a few wonderful surprises to share with the audience. There is a $30-$45 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: THE SKIVVIES WITH LAUREN MOLINA & NICK CEARLEY

Award-winning singer-actors Lauren Molina (Marry Me a Little, Sweeney Todd, Rock of Ages) and Nick Cearley (All Shook Up) return to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) with another The Skivies show on Friday, September 11h at 11:00 pm. This "musically thrilling" undie-rock, comedy-pop duo don't just strip down their musical arrangements, they literally strip down to their underwear to perform their distinctive mashups and eccentric originals for cello and ukulele, with touches of glockenspiel, melodica, and a surprising array of under-used instruments. They will be joined by special guest stars, Matt Doyle, Tituss Burgess, Nick Adams, Lesli Margherita & Leslie McDonel, who will strip down and rock out. Expect a hilarious evening of genre-hopping pop perfection. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
