CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: VARLA JEAN MERMAN MAKES 54 BELOW DEBUT
Varla Jean Merman will perform at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Sunday & Monday, September 29th & 30th at 7:00 pm. Varla is the purported love child of Ethel Merman and Ernest Borgnine. Making her 54 Below debut, Varla Jean, aka Jeffery Roberson, unveils an all-new show of hilarious songs, videos and fabulous costumes featuring Sirius XM Radio star Seth Rudetsky at the piano. Jeffery starred in the musical Lucky Guy opposite Leslie Jordan in New York in 2011 at the Little Shubert Theatre to rave reviews. This past year, Jeffery completed shooting the sequel to the camp classic film Girls Will Be Girls, and Varla Jean and the Mushroomheads is now available on www.SethTV.com. Off-Broadway audiences embraced Jeffrey when he played the title role in Giancarlo Menotti's opera The Medium.
