NYC: LES PAUL MONDAY'S FEATURING BUCKY PIZZARELLI

IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB (1650 Broadway, NYC - 212-582-2121 - ) presents Les Paul Monday's featuring Bucky Pizzarelli: Three Great Guitars every Monday night with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. John Bucky Pizzarelli is a world renowned jazz guitarist who was born in Paterson, NJ in 1926. His uncles Peter and Bobby Domenick, musicians who also hailed from New Jersey, taught Bucky the guitar. His career spans over 60 years from the Vaughn Monroe Orchestra, to the Johnny Carson Tonight Show. Hundreds of jazz concerts worldwide, including White House performances with Benny Goodman, Frank Sinatra, and Claude Fiddler Williams, with Presidents Reagan and Clinton add to the list. On Monday, February 25th he is joined by fellow guitarists Ed Laub and Walt Bibinger. Born in Upper Saddle River, NJ in 1952, Ed Laub began playing the guitar at age 12, first with guitarist and banjo player, Bobby Domenic (uncle to jazz legend, Bucky Pizzarelli) and ultimately a few years later in 1969 studying the 7 string guitar with Bucky Pizzarelli. He has performed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Kitano, The Iridium, Birdland, PNC Arts Center, Bickford Theatre, NJ-PAC, Berrie Performing Arts Center, Les Paul Museum, The Annual Elkhart Jazz Festival and regular at Smalls Jazz Club in Greenwich Village. Jazz guitarist Walt Bibinger began playing the guitar at age 4, performing professionally at age 12, and began his teaching career at age 16. Walt's primary musical influence and mentor was Grammy Award winning guitarist Harry Leahey. Walt studied intensely with Leahey from 1975 through 1990, and also attended The Berklee College of Music. There is a $30 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.
