NYS: FORT SALEM THEATER'S 5th ANNIVERSARY CABARET SERIES

NYS: FORT SALEM THEATER'S 5th ANNIVERSARY CABARET SERIES

The MAINSTAGE AT FORT SALEM THEATER (11 East Broadway, Salem, NY - 518-854-9200), Washington County's Theater Home for Music, Musicals, and Cabaret, announces its lineup for the fifth annual FALL AT THE FORT CABARET SERIES. Running four consecutive November Saturdays, this year's theme is Homecoming, performances by some of the most successful acts that have played in the cabaret room. On November 19, the singing/ dancing performing team of Rob and Rosie Spring returns with a brand new show. When last seen two years ago at the Fort, they shared with us the story of their courtship as they toured in the Broadway National Tour of 42nd Street, he, the young male lead Billy Lawlor, she, the last chorus girl on the left. Almost Like Being in Love took us on a whirlwind musical journey of their courtship, life as touring young performers who relocate to a civilian life in Saratoga Springs. In their new show, Brushes with Greatness, interspersed with some songs that they sang on the road to Saratoga, we learn about the performers who influenced them along the way. Rob grew up in Glens Falls and, as a young teenager, auditioned at Fort Salem (he may not tell that story). Rosie's more cosmopolitan summers in St. Louis saw her as part of the kiddie chorus at one of the nation's largest outdoor venues, decorating the stage for the likes of Rue McClanahan ("scary"), Captain Kangaroo ("old"), and Georgia Engel ("delightful"). Rob's successful roles in his twenties led to tales of famous people pursuing him for his autograph, including musical film icon Ann Miller. Call for cover/minimum information.
