M.W.: CLOSE TO YOU: THE MUSIC OF THE CARPENTERS
Singer and playwright Lisa Rock develops and produces cabaret shows for artists across the country, and now she has compiled "Close to You: The Music of the Carpenters", a moving tribute to the music and life of Carpenter that she brings to the METROPOLIS PERFORMING ART CENTRE (111 West Campbell Street, Arlington Heights, IL - 847-577-2121 on Saturday, February 19th at 8:00 pm. She is joined by along her 6-piece band. Featuring hit Carpenters songs like "We've Only Just Begun," "Yesterday Once More" and "Rainy Days and Mondays," the show celebrates some of the most memorable songs of the '70s. Considered one of the best vocalists of all time, Karen Carpenter captured the attention of a generation with the surprisingly deep material of her unabashedly catchy pop music. Tickets are $25-$35.
