TODAY IN NYC: Broadway's original "Sandy" (Grease): CAROLE DEMAS' "SUMMER NIGHTS" RETURNS
Carole Demas, Broadway's original "Sandy" (Grease), and Star of TV's "The Magic Garden" is returning for two more nights at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATER (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) with her show "Summer Nights" on Wednesday, October 13th and Wednesday, October 27th, both shows at 7:00 pm. The singing actress presents eclectic music from an eclectic life: Broadway, Classic Pop, Rock, Great American Songbook and more. The program is directed by Charles Repole, and also features performances by music director Ian Herman (piano), Sean Harkness, (guitar), and special guest performers, Paula Janis, Ilene Kristen and Josh Franklin. Ms. Demas is best known for her critically acclaimed creation of the female lead, "Sandy," in the original Broadway blockbuster musical Grease, and for her co-starring role in The Magic Garden, the most successful regional show in the history of children's television. There is a $25 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
