S.F. based Barry Lloyd will be flying solo - no bass or drums - at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Monday, October 11th at 9:30 pm. Just Barry, 16 songs and a piano. The show is a tribute to one of his favorite artists - Ruth Draper, a true "diseuse". It is an evening of musical "monologues"; songs which are self contained stories. He's chosen a rather eclectic group of numbers by some of the greatest song writers in our American Songbook: Cy Coleman, Dorothy Fields, Bart Howard, Carol Hall, Jule Styne, Harold Arlen, Yip Harburg, Billy Barnes, Schmidt & Jones and Hugh Martin among others.
