NYC: J. MICHAEL REEDS IN NEW SHOW 'WEST" AT THE BEECHMAN

J. Michael Reeds brings his new show "WEST" to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATER (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 - ) on Saturday, April 24th at 1:00 pm. He will be joined on stage by Ben Misek and Luke Strandquist. "WEST" features arrangements by musical director Wells Hanley (Piano, Guitar & Ukulele) with Tony Romano on Guitar, Ritt Henn on Bass, Brett Ripley on Drums. Directed by Miles Phillips. The Laurie Beechman Theatre is proud to present THE BEECHMAN FOLLIES on Saturday, September 19th 7:00 pm at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATER (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 - ). This thrilling one night only concert features some of the outstanding talents who have graced the stage of this midtown venue over the past three years. Among the cast are some of Broadway's brightest lights, as well as cabaret's most dynamic performers. The concert will benefit The Beechman's acclaimed Voices from the Great White Way series, which features one night only concerts from some of our favorite Broadway vocalists. The evening will be under the musical direction of The Barry Levitt Trio, and is produced and directed by MAC, Bistro and Nightlife Award winner Phil Geoffrey Bond. There is a $25 cover plus a $15 food/beverage minimum.

NYC: BRANDON CUTRELL & COHORTS: BENEFIT FOR AUTISM AWARENESS

FEATURED CABARET BENEFIT EVENT

The After Party's own and 2009 Nightlife Award winner, Brandon Cutrell, takes to the THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATER (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 - ) stage with his new show, BRANDON CUTRELL & COHORTS: A Cabaret Showcase on Thursday nights, April 2nd & 9th at 9:30 pm. Brandon Cutrell & Co-Horts will feature five individuals, each of whom will present a fifteen minute, three song set. From original works to contemporary musical theatre to standards from the Great American Songbook, this show will provide audience members with the opportunity to meet some of New York's youngest, but most promising up-and-coming talent. Performers scheduled for April 2nd include Bradley O'Bryan Hawks, Rachel James, Rachel Potter, Erik Sisco and Jason Zammit with a special guest appearance by Katie Thompson. Thursday, April 2nd is WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY. A portion of all tickets sold at the door will go to Autism Speaks. Donations will also be accepted. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

CAST CHANGE ANNOUNCED FOR MARCH 10th GALA

GREAT NEWS! The family emergency that caused Kristy Cates (Broadway's Elphaba and part of original WICKED cast) to drop out of our MARCH IS CABARET MONTH GALA was solved earlier than expected and Kristy will indeed be appearing in our show. She will join her "stand in" Laura Dekkers Langham (Andrew Lloyd Webber's Broadway production of THE WOMEN IN WHITE as well as David Friedman's LISTEN TO MY HEART: THE SONGS OF DAVID FRIEDMAN) in singing the 2008 MEMBERS CHOICE BEST CABARET SONG, David Friedman's LISTEN TO MY HEART.

Tom Stajmiger is producing the show and the MC/host is 2009 NY Nightlife Award winner Brandon Cutrell. And another award winner, Tracy Stark is our Musical Director. And you as a member has a part in three of the numbers/performers.

The two "debut" winners of the recent CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE MEMBERS' CHOICE poll, Sarah Rice and Ben Cherry, will be featured, plus another another cabaret newcomer, Antonio Edwards. Sarah Rice, who Stephen Sondheim and Harold Prince chose to become part of musical theatre history when she was cast as the original Johanna in SWEENEY TODD, THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET on Broadway, made her first cabaret appearance in 2008. Michigan native Ben Cherry made his cabaret debut at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM in January 2008, for which he received rave reviews. Antonio Edwards recently made his cabaret debut at THE TRIAD in his one man show "Love, Life & Empowerment."

In addition to Kristy and Laura, other performers in the show are multi award winner (MAC - NY Nightlife) Natalie Douglas; Metro Star winner Anne Steele (who just completed a sold-out run at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM; Chicago favorite and cabaret star Joan Curto; Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominee and Broadway/Cabaret favorite Sally Mayes; and the MAC Award winning, cabaret/jazz performer and recording artist Jack Donahue.

Of course, as with all live entertainment events, performers are subject to change.

NYC: TICKET SALES ARE BRISK FOR CABARET MONTH GALA

Tickets are now on sale online for the 2nd ANNUAL MARCH IS CABARET MONTH GALA on March 10th at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATER (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 ) and sales have reached the 25% mark on available seats.

The celebration is produced by Tom Stajmiger (who has a a lot of experience in producing events). 2009 Nightlife Award winner Brandon Cutrell will host the show, presenting a lineup from newcomers to multi-award winners. In addition to the two "debut" winners of our MEMBERS' CHOICE poll, newcomer Antonio Edwards will perform.

Other performers include Kristy Cates (Broadway's Elphaba and part of original WICKED cast), multi-award winner Natalie Douglas, Anne Steele (who won the Metropolitan Room's Metrostar Contest), Joan Curto (from Chicago), Anna Bergman, Sally Mayes and Jack Donahue. Of course, as with all live entertainment events, performers are subject to change.
