He is joined by London favorite Nathan Martin on piano and Bob Renino on bass. The show is directed by Lisa Forrell. In this show he explores those innermost thoughts we can fall into late at night - loneliness, gratitude, regrets, jealousy, love, fantasies and even revenge - and it's fun, despite the somber sounding title. Harold's soulful and witty interpretation of lyrics portrays the humour, sadness and tenderness of these emotions, through the words and music of classic songs by Lennon and McCartney, Billie Holiday, Thelonious Monk, Jerome Kern, Bob Dylan, Jay Leonhart, Dorothy Fields, Stephen Sondheim and Antonio Carlos Jobim to name a few. For 20 years, Harold was a successful UK based theatre producer with productions that spanned the smallest scale fringe productions to large scale commercial ones. He produced mainly in London, but also throughout the UK, as well as in Baltimore and New York City. Working with Oscar winners to complete unknowns, he was responsible for the UK debut of many North American performers and writers. However, three years ago he decided to leave producing and concentrate on his real love - singing and cabaret. Tickets are now on sale for the fourth annual CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE MARCH IS CABARET MONTH GALA on Friday, March 4th at 7:00 pm at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC), produced by Tom Stajmiger. There are only 75 seats (with 22 of them already sold). You are urged to act quickly to assure seating.
Tracy Stark has been chosen as musical director for this year's show. Also announced were several of the performers chosen to take part: Laurel Masse (founding member of Manhattan Transfer, Bistro Award winner for Best Jazz Vocalist); Gabrielle Stravelli (Bistro Award Winner - Performer on the Rise); and Lucia Spina (Broadway: Legally Blonde, South Pacific, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Les Miserables) and Jim VanSlyke (Singer/Songwriter/ Voice Teacher). Joyce Sloane, the beloved maternal powerhouse of The Second City, and the woman who found and nurtured such comedy giants as John Belushi, Gilda Radner, Chris Farley and Bill Murray, died Thursday, according to Kelly Leonard, the vice-president of The Second City.
According to her daughter, Cheryl, Sloane died peacefully, while in bed. She was 80.

By STEPHEN HOLDENMary Cleere Haran, one of the foremost cabaret singers of the 1990s, was gravely injured in a biking accident on Thursday near Deerfield Beach, Fla., where she has been living for the last year, said a friend, Bridge McIntyre. Ms. Haran, 58, is known for her celebrations of the American songbook, especially the work of Rodgers and Hart, Harry Warren, and the music of Doris Day.

She has continued her successful career as an actress by appearing in numerous films over the years, including How to Commit Marriage, The Love Machine, Empire, and a host of others, along with TV roles too numerous to mention---and also recorded the pop tunes, "Don't Make the Angels Cry" and "What Does He Do With Her?" on the Carlton label. L.A.: "ANTI CABARET" WITH SALLY KELLERMAN" AT VITELLO'S
Sally Kellerman, the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award nominated actress and singer who created the infamous role of Major Margaret "Hot Lips" O'Houlihan in Robert Altman's classic film, "M*A*SH," will appear as a vocalist in her show, "An Evening With Sally Kellerman," with Pianist/Music Director, Andy Langham, on Thursday, February 3rd at 8:00 pm atUPSTAIRS AT VITELLO'S (4349 Tujunga Avenue, Studio City, CA - 818-754-8700). She has made us laugh (Back To School opposite Rodney Dangerfield), cry (Big Blond) and nearly all women in the world proud (Boynton Beach Bereavement Club). Under contract with Verve Records at the age of 18, Sally has been blessed with a signature voice and style as well as an uncanny ability to make a song her own. There is a $15 cover plus a $13 food/drink minimum.

FLA: JAZZ AT THE LONGBOAT KEY CENTER FOR THE ARTS
Al Hixon's All Star Band, featuring vocalist Lorri Hafer with Johnny Varro on Piano, Vince Evans on Bass, Al Hixon on Drums, Bob Switzer on Trumpet, and Jim Wellen on Tenor will perform on Thursday, February 3rd from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at JAZZ AT THE CENTER - LONGBOAT KEY CENTER FOR THE ARTS (6860 Longboat Drive South, Longboat Key, FL - 941-383-2345). Al Hixon and his All Star Jazz Band concert performances have become a legend at the Longboat Key Center for the Arts. Al was the originator of bringing jazz concerts to the Art Center. This evening is no different. Al will be bringing his "world renowned" jazz musicians and friends back to the Art Center for an evening of swing and some very cool jazz. Tickets are $25.

The Tony Award winning actress Yvonne Constant returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday through Saturday, February 3rd through 5th, plus Tuesday, February 22nd - all shows at 7:00 pm. This marks the singer's sixth Met Room engagement. This show continues her fascinating exploration of the French popular songbook. In "Paris in the 60s and 70s" Constant visits a time of remarkable creativity and social upheaval when French singers and songwriters were responding to, embracing, or resisting popular American trends, with music director Russ Kassoff on piano. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Elizabeth Tryon brings her show "Diary of a Pop Songwriting Classical Singer" to the THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for three nights in February: Thursday the 3rd, and Sunday & Monday, February 6th & 7th, all shows at 9:30 pm. Musical director Michael Ferreri will be at the piano, with Sean Harkness on guitar. Elizabeth Tryon is often described as two singers in one, possessing the low belt of a first-class pop singer and the soaring high notes of a true classical great. In "Diary of a Pop Songwriting Classical Singer" Elizabeth takes you on a humorous, moving, and beautiful musical journey as she segues between her original songs - her song "Fire Inside" broke the Top 10 on the FMQB AC National Radio Chart - and Broadway favorites, portrayed with wit and grace, plus behind-the-scenes music industry anecdotes. Elizabeth also draws upon her background performing improvisational comedy at the New York Comedy Club to create an unforgettable show. The show is a multi-media event, featuring 2 music videos - including a moving tribute video to the US Armed Forces that features one of Elizabeth's songs as the soundtrack. The show also features the music of Andrew Lloyd Weber, Joni Mitchell, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Celtic Woman, and others. Elizabeth recently released her debut album "From Elizabeth", produced by Grammy-winner Scott Jacoby and Anthony Resta (Elton John, Collective Soul).
