NYC: ROBIN'S NEST/A BENEFIT FOR HELPUSADOPT.ORG RETURNS ON NOVEMBER 28th STARRING NATALIE DOUGLAS WITH SPECIAL GUESTS - NOVEMBER 28th
Celebrate the new season at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Monday, November 28th at 7:00 pm! Join host and Helpusadopt.org board member Robin Westle, headliner Natalie Douglas and special guest star Ricky Ritzel, and added guests Stearns Matthews, Sidney Myer and Lennie Watts! The event is directed by Eric Michael Gillett.This will be an unforgettable night of song and story to benefit Helpusadopt.org. Complete biographies will be available at the show. HelpUsAdopt.org, founded in 2007, is a national 501c3 adoption grant program. The organization is the only one of its kind in the United States that embodies all of the following criteria:
- awards large life-changing and problem -solving grants up to $15,000 that help families complete their adoptions
-supports all types of families (married couples, single parent and LGBT families)
-supports all types of adoptions (domestic, international, foster care)
-supports all types of religions without requiring a statement of faith
- does not charge applicants to apply
Helpusadopt.org's average grant is approximately $8,500 and since the organization's launch in 2007, Helpusadopt.org has helped to build more than 175 families by awarding over $1,500,000 in total adoption grants. NYC: SPOTLIGHT ON PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS TERESA FISCHER'S WHAT'S NEXT? - NOVEMBER 28th
Spotlight On Productions is proud to present a vibrant, eclectic and subtly layered cabaret show: WHAT'S NEXT? at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Monday, November 28th, at 7:00 pm. The show is about exploring the places and events we revisit or imagine when figuring out what's next. Teresa Fischer brings life to the work of a wide range of composers including; Jerome Kern, Andrew Lippa, Nancy Griffith, Holly Williams, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Jimmy Webb. Cabaret veteran Paul Chamlin is the musical director and one-man band for this fun evening that features special musical arrangements by Paul as well as Andrew David Sotomayor. Teresa's 2015 cabaret show, Comedy Roulette, was a critical and audience success and was chosen as The Bistro Awards' pick of the week during its run! WHAT'S NEXT? will add another winner to her already long list of successful cabaret shows: Comedy Roulette; Hip To Be Happy and Destinations and Detours; Scene of the Crime to name a few. Long time theatre Director Kent Cozad will be making his cabaret directing debut with this show. Kent also notes that this material capitalizes on Teresa's ability to engage an audience through song for a show that's deeply personal and entertaining. Kent's previous work includes productions of An Ideal Husband (which happened to be his first time directing Teresa), The Comedy of Errors, Miss Margarida's Way, Bus Stop, Buried Child and Samuel Barbero's opera, A Hand of Bridge. Teresa Fischer's debut CD LET IT GO was released in the fall of 2012, and CHRISTMAS IS, a collaboration with Candice Corbin and Andrew David Sotomayor - was released in December 2013.
