BREAKING!! IN NYC: MEAGAN MICHELSON MAKES SOLO CABARET DEBUT IN MOTHER MARY SAYS TO ME - APRIL 2nd

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551), presents Meagan Michelson in Mother Mary Says to Me on Saturday, April 2nd at 11:30 pm. Back from her world tour of Boston, Meagan returns to Feinstein's with her hit cabaret show, Mother Mary Says to Me, a story about her clumsy quest toward finding the meaning of love and sexuality, translated through her mother Mary's Bostonian, Irish Catholic sensibility. Mother Mary has offered beauty where it's least expected, and Meagan is here to belt about it. Boston-bred beltress Meagan Michelson is a versatile singer, comedienne, writer, and emerging cabaret artist. Meagan makes her New York solo cabaret debut with Mother Mary Says to Me at Feinstein's/54 Below. After graduating from The Boston Conservatory with her M.F.A. in Musical Theatre, Meagan toured the country as a gospel-singing octopus in ArtsPower's The Rainbow Fish. Regionally, she has cross-dressed and discoed as Mia/ Oberon in American Repertory Theatre's The Donkey Show, decked the halls in Hanover Theatre's A Christmas Carol, and caused a stir as busybody Mirala in Barrington Stage Company's Fiddler on the Roof. Meagan holds a B.A. in English from Harvard College. Meagan takes the stage alongside the inimitable Matthew Lowy on piano. Musical styles range from the Beatles to Ethel Merman. Composer, arranger, music director, and accompanist Matthew Lowy recently played keyboard 1 on the national tour of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and will soon be leaving for China for two months to assistant music direct and play keyboard 2 on a tour of My Fair Lady. Matt is currently the assistant music director for the New Voices summer conservatory program at the Paper Mill Playhouse. He is a proud alumnus of The Boston Conservatory, B.M. Composition. Helen Deborah Lewis will be directing the show. She is a full-time faculty member at The Boston Conservatory in Boston, MA where she teaches acting, theatre history, dramatic literature/theory, and gender studies, and serves as the Academic Coordinator of the Theatre Division. She holds a Ph.D from Tufts University.
