NYC: BARBARA FASANO - BUSY BEING FREE CD RELEASE CONCERT
Acclaimed pop/jazz vocalist Barbara Fasano comes home to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, February 25th, at 7:00 pm to celebrate the release of her fourth solo CD, "Busy Being Free". The title comes from Joni Mitchell's "Cactus Tree", and the CD takes a deep dive into a woman's point of view, with other lyricists including Dorothy Fields, Carolyn Leigh and Nellie Lutcher. Once again Ms. Fasano's collaborator is the celebrated pianist/ arranger John di Martino. Their previous CD, "Written In The Stars" was praised in publications as diverse as Playbill and JazzTimes, and was awarded both the NY Bistro and MAC awards for Record of the Year. Ms. Fasano has headlined at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and concert halls and jazz festivals internationally. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
