NYC: MITF: SPRING VARIETY ACTS WANTED! MARCH 7-27, 2016

The MIDTOWN INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL is seeking Variety Acts for it's SPRING event. The Festival will take place at the WORKSHOP THEATER'S JEWEL BOX THEATER (312 West 36th Street, NYC) and runs from March 7th through 27th, 2016. The Variety division spans cabaret, magic, improv, sketch comedy, standup, and burlesque. Acts can be solo or group affairs, so long as they fit within an hour, including setup and strike, and so long as they bring their own music director and so forth. The Festival provides a keyboard and amp. Shows receive a 1-hour tech rehearsal and a share of the profits, if any. Each act will be given one performance with the possibility of added performances to those acts with the best advance ticket sales (Festival schedule permitting).

How to apply for Variety Acts at MITF: Spring.

To submit a project (Magic Acts, Improv, Stand-up, Cabaret, Sketch Comedy, etc), mark it clearly "MITF: Spring," and let us know your genre of Variety. Please send all Variety submissions (video reels, youtube, etc), to: john.chatterton@gmail.com

That's it, there is NO PARTICIPATION FEE! We look forward to your submissions! Submission Deadline For Variety is February 27, 2016. For all shows, the Festival provides a theatre (the WORKSHOP THEATER'S JEWEL BOX THEATER), shared scenery (rehearsal cubes, a table, and 4 chairs), front-of-house staff, a board op (NOT a lighting designer), and a keyboard plus amp if necessary. We look forward to your submissions!

UNCORKED! is a boozy romp - the type only MargOH! can do. This is the deconstruction of drag, through the life and times of this often demented, occasionally glamorous and always drunken Diva as she (with MAN-ee Champagne's hazy but unfaltering support) tackles topics such as rape, incest, politics and the one thing we all have in common: dysfunction! Comedic monologues, original music and sloshy standards, this brassy, boozy chanteuse and her glitter-dipped Gayiance will pop your cork with love, laughter, booze and song. Joining in on the madness on January 28th is LGBTQ ICON ,multi-platinum recording artist and founding member of The Village People, Randy Jones and on February 4th MargOH! welcomes Broadway, cabaret and recording star Nellie McKay, Musical direction by Tracy Stark. Call for reservations and cover/minimum information.
