LONDON: STEVE ROSS PRESENTS 'STEVE ROSS ON BROADWAY' AT THE CRAZY COQS
International Cabaret icon Steve Ross brings his new show 'Steve Ross on Broadway' to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday through Saturday, November 3rd through 7th at 8:00 pm. 'Steve Ross on Broadway' includes songs he's always wanted to sing and songs you've always wanted to hear. Steve has compiled a wide-ranging program selected from early Broadway (the Gershwins' Fascinating Rhythm, Lady Be Good through Dietz and Schwartz (Shine ON Your Shoes), Jerome Kern (All the Things You Are) Bob Merrill (Love Makes the World Go 'Round), Kander & Ebb (Nowadays) Kurt Weill (One Life To Live) Cole Porter (Nobody's Chasing Me) to Stephen Sondheim (Buddy's Blues). Ross has been a fixture of the cabaret community in Manhattan for over forty years. He was born "forty-five minutes from Broadway" in New Rochelle, and was raised in Washington, DC with an opera-loving father and a mother who played on the piano the songs of Gershwin, Porter and Irving Berlin. His first major job in New York was as a successful singer/pianist at the now famous piano bar Ted Hook's Backstage. In 1981 he re-opened the legendary Oak Room at Manhattan's famed Hotel Algonquin where he held forth off and on for three decades. He has appeared on Broadway in Noel Coward's Present Laughter, starring Frank Langella and off-Broadway in his tribute to Fred Astaire entitled I Won't Dance. Internationally, he has performed in London, Paris, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Melbourne and Sydney as well as cabarets and theatres across America and on the high seas. He's hosted programs on the BBC and American public radio and was on the lecture/performance roster at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for eight years. He has been a sought after teacher at such temples of learning as the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) in Sydney and the Royal Academy in London. Call for cover/minimum information.

LONDON: BENOIT VIELLEFON AND HIS HOT CLUB AT THE CRAZY COQS
Benoit Viellefon is proud to present his HOT CLUB, inspired by the hot swinging music that emerged from the infamous Parisian Caf•s and nightclubs of the 1920s & '30s, at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888 - ) on Friday, November 6th at 10:30 pm as part of the club's Late Night Series. The HOT CLUB show celebrates the burning excitement of those sizzling gypsy swing numbers made famous by Django Reinhardt, together with the romanticism of the finest musettes and waltzes from the French tradition. With a nod to the American jazz virtuosi who visited Paris, such as Louis Armstrong and Sidney Bechet, HOT CLUB features both trumpet and clarinet alongside the timeless two-guitars and double bass lineup. The perfect mix of European finesse and the restless fervour of American swing, HOT CLUB are the modern-day embodiment of the spirit of a bygone age. Call for cover/minimum information.
