NYC: MINNELLI & JACKMAN AXED FROM HIT OFF-OFF-BROADWAY SHOW

After trying (in vain) to lure Tony winners Liza Minnelli and Hugh Jackman to appear on his international "hit" live-theater talk show "Late with Lance!", cruise ship worker and celebrity stalker Lance Jonathan has decided to move on. Just back in NYC after a busy month at the Edinburgh Fringe, where Minnelli and Jackman consistently didn't appear for the 25-day festival, Lance returns to the stages of the TRIPLE CROWN UNDERGROUND(330 Seventh Anenue, NYC - (lower level)) on Sundays, October 25th & November 1st at 7:00 pm. The always hopeful Late with Lance! host (played by New York writer-director-actor Peter Michael Marino) has bit the bullet - replacing Liza and Hugh with two new possible no-shows: Cher and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Cher & Webber have yet to confirm. However, original Fame star Antonia Franceshi has, and will be sitting down to chat with Lance about her life after Fame as a celebrated ballet dancer and teacher. The always hopeful Late with Lance! host (played by New York writer-director-actor Peter Michael Marino) knows that Cher is busy with an upcoming tour and Andrew Lloyd Webber is tied up with the upcoming Broadway debut of School of Rock. Peter Michael Marino is the performer and creator of Lance Jonathan's critically acclaimed cabaret spoofs All About Me! and More About Me! - which rocked the cabaret circuit in the mid-90s and led to a Backstage Bistro Award for Outstanding Achievement, and a number of MAC Award nominations. He is also the creator of Desperately Seeking the Exit which toured the world for over two years and recounted his tale of writing the flop Blondie musical Desperately Seeking Susan. In addition to directing dozens of solo comedies, Peter is the co-creator/producer of SOLOCOM at The PIT which has debuted over 150 original solo comedies since November 2013 and returns this November with over 120 new solo comedies. Late with Lance! received 5-star reviews at the 2015 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, followed by a packed performance at London's Arts Theatre West End and capacity crowds in NYC. Pay-what-you-can. No reservations.

NYC: BRIAN DE LORENZO CELEBRATES SINATRA AT 100 AT MAMA'S

DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) presents two performances of 'Come Fly with Me - Brian De Lorenzo Celebrates Sinatra at 100' - a tribute concert with The Scott Nicholas Trio, on Sunday, November 1st at 5:00 pm and Saturday, November 7th at 7:00 pm. The show's tour launches in Boston, and continues with two performances in Puerto Vallarta in December following the New York performances. Boston performing and cabaret artist Brian De Lorenzo, Talent America's 2001 "Performer of the Year", offers 'Come Fly With Me', an original tribute show hailing one of the greatest singers of the American Songbook, Frank Sinatra, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Sinatra's birth. De Lorenzo whisks the audience through Sinatra's Songbook with stops in Rome, Paris, and Bombay. Accompanied by the Scott Nicholas Trio, with Nicholas on piano, Steve Rose on drums and Jered Egan on bass, expect to hear a sly mix of swing and romance featuring fresh arrangements of "Old Blue Eyes'" best tunes including "Fools Rush In," "The Best Is Yet to Come," Luck Be a Lady," and of course "Come Fly with Me". De Lorenzo delivers anecdotes about Sinatra, interwoven with commentary on how the Great American Songbook and Sinatra's contributions inspired and touched his own life and musical career. De Lorenzo makes his long-awaited return to Don't Tell Mama, following previous appearances as Frank Gumm in Made in America: Vaudeville Songs, a tribute to the Gumm family, honoring the family of Judy Garland; and his solo cabaret show, More Found Treasures. Garnering admirable critical acclaim, De Lorenzo has been nominated three times for the "Best Cabaret Show" Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Award. He is frequently recognized for bringing to light wonderful but obscure songs and for his interpretations of standards from the Great American Songbook and musical theatre.
