NYC: KEVIN HILL - BLUES AND GROOVES

Summit Records recording artist Kevin Hill brings his show 'Blues and Grooves' to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Saturday, August 1st at 4:00 pm. Hill is a seasoned performer equally at home in jazz, rock, blues and classical guitar settings, he has shared stages and billings with Bucky Pizzarelli, Bob Mintzer, Johnny Winter, Dickey Betts, Levon Helm, Booker T. Jones, Johnnie Johnson, Gov't Mule, Keller Williams and Stanton Moore. He has performed at a wide variety of venues from The Stone Pony to the Knitting Factory, from the Trump Taj Mahal to the Zinc Bar NYC. He holds a B.A. in Music from Kean University specializing in classical guitar. Among Kevin's numerous musical experiences, he has shared the stage with the Bob Mintzer big band and his guitar was played by Ritchie Blackmore. A guitar player and vocalist of surprising skill, he has studied with eminent guitarists such as jazz masters Ted Dunbar and Dave Stryker, as well as classical virtuoso Christopher Kenniff. He performs regularly in a solo acoustic capacity as well as with his projects The Kevin Hill Trio, Secret Sound, and The Hub Kings. A composer and educator, he has written many works for ensemble as well as solo guitar, and his teaching methods have helped shape the musical lives of many people both young and old. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

 NYC: JACOB STORMS - "GIVE MY REGARDS TO BROADWAY"

Jacob Storms performs his show "Give My Regards to Broadway" at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Saturday, August 1st at 9:00 pm. The show is a musical journey & tribute to The Great White Way told through the eternal words & music of Irving Berlin, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Jerome Kern & Oscar Hammerstein II plus some special surprises along the way! There is a $24 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

The Flatiron Follies is an old fashioned entertainment, curated by two good-time gals and darlings of the NYC nightlife scene, Grace Gotham and Bettina May. This all-singing, all-dancing duo brings you those glamorous, sequin-spangled production numbers from the 1920s-1950s. Showcasing the best of jazz, opera, showtunes and more, The Flatiron Follies feature a roster of the city's most spectacular singers and dazzling dancers - ranging from tap to cirque to burlesque. Delight in dirty jazz ditties that will make even the saltiest sailor blush! Be beguiled by the bumps and grinds of classic burlesque! Join the cast in a rousing singalong with familiar favorites from the great American songbook! Why, the Flatiron district hasn't been this fun since it was called the Toy district! Bettina May is a New York-based pin-up model and burlesque performer, originally from the west coast of Canada. In the autumn of 2012 she was awarded the first ever burlesque-based "genius" green card from the USA for her outstanding abilities. She started her career in 2003, and since then has performed internationally on stages in Paris, London, Berlin Rome and more, as well as touring nationally for the past 6 years. She has been featured on The Real Housewives of NYC, NBC News, CBS's The Couch and she has also performed for Brooke Shields, Kanye West, Jude Law, and more. She just published her first book, Everyday Bombshell, sharing her vintage style secrets, and teaches aspiring bombshells around the world with her touring Pin-Up Class. Grace Gotham, is a burlesque performer and chanteuse who has been described as "the Half-Brazilian, straight from a Texas cotillion, with a body worth a million." While she enjoys the pleasure of bringing her special brand of whimsical and comedic song and dance internationally, she is proud to call NYC her home for over 16 years. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
