DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) presents Drew Gasparini & Louis Sacco in 'An Evening With Louis & Drew' on Monday, August 31st at 7:30 pm. Drew Gasparini and Louis Sacco are best friends who love to re-interpret jazz standards in a way you've never heard before. They have performed together as "Louis & Drew" for several years, but this is the first time that they will share their show with a New York City audience. Be among the first to spend an evening with this dynamic duo, surrounded by friendship, humor, and harmonies. There is a $5 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Ashlie moved from Maui to Manhattan and traded her beach blankets for Broadway. NYC: FOREST VANDYKE: "BREAKING FREE"
"Breaking Free", presented at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Monday, August 31st at 7:00 pm is an introduction to the golden voiced performer Forest VanDyke. VanDyke hails from Austin, Texas and was drawn to music from an early age. From age eight, he sang gospel passionately in his church choir. Heavy involvement in his middle school choir led him to the reputable Austin Children's Choir. His love of music grew, and he soon auditioned and was invited to join the prestigious American Boychoir School in Princeton, NJ. There, he studied diligently under the tutelage of conductors Craig Denison and Dr. James Litton. Under their direction, Forest has been privileged to perform in Germany and around the country at venues such as Carnegie Hall. Following Forest's experience at the American Boychoir School, he returned to Texas to continue singing and explore new interests. He was awarded the top-ranked baritone at the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Choir Competition. He appeared in numerous high school theatrical productions and developed an intense interest in the theatre as a place to combine his acting, singing, movement and athletic skills. After high school, Forest attended Texas State University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with concentration on the Professional Acting Training Progra. Forest moved to New York and within a month booked his first national tour. He joined the Actors' Equity Association. Forest became a member of the international singing/ recording group, Teatro, and has been privileged to tour the world with them. The group has recently joined with Broadway Pops International and is in the works for new performances. Forest has since worked on new productions with wonderful directors and artists like Saheem Ali (A Free Man of Color, Goddess), Kevin Del Aguila (Altar Boyz, Peter and the Starcatcher), and John Rando (Urinetown, The Toxic Avenger). With skills in singing, acting, athleticism, dance and movement, Forest looks forward to continuing to learn and grow as an artist with many more wonderful and exciting experiences! 'Breaking Free' is am emotional musical journey will help you discover your inner truth, and find the courage to break free of whatever is binding you. NYC: ALISON BURNS & LULU PICART AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM
Alison Burns and Lulu Picart join forces to perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Monday, August 31st at 9:30 pm. For Alison Burns the passion for performing began at the early age of 2 when her parents say she began harmonizing with them as they rehearsed songs with their church band. Following in her parent's footsteps, Alison's first solo was in church, as well as her first tour. At the ripe age of twelve Burns booked a southern tour with gospel group, The Young Continentals, and recorded her first album with Generation Blessed just a few years later. It was clear, her career had started but she insisted on developing her talent, and so she moved to New York City to attend The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Just two months after graduation Burns booked her first Broadway National Tour with RENT! where she stepped into the swing position. After a year on tour she re-signed as Maureen where she "jumped over the moon" for audiences all over the US. and Canada. Lulu Picart recently starred in the Off Broadway Production of Disenchanted!, for which she was nominated for a Lucille Lortel award. She also tours with composer David Friedman presenting his music in Listen to My Heart: the Songs of David Friedman. She has sung with Toxic Audio, The Voices of Liberty, and the Orlando Philharmonic and has been featured in the Orlando Cabaret Festival and the Avignon Jazz Festival. Lulu was a judge for The American Idol Experience at Walt Disney World and has adjudicated for the Florida Vocal Association. She serves as clinician for small vocal ensembles and large choirs and holds masterclasses in performance and working with accompanists. As a musical director, she has worked for freeFall Theatre, Mad Cow Theater, and Walt Disney World. Lulu can currently be seen as Gooch in feeFall Theatre's production of Mame! The Broadway at Birdland concert series presents the return of singer/ songwriter Victoria Shaw in "UnderThe Covers." The one-night-only event will take place at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Monday, August 31st at 7:00 pm. Hosted by award winning songwriter Victoria Shaw, Under The Covers has become a favorite recurring highlight at Birdland, featuring a wide variety of top-selling songwriters and musical acts from across the pop, rock and country worlds, and offering intimate acoustic performances of huge hit songs - along with the little-known stories behind them. Additional special guests will be announced soon. Victoria Shaw is a pop/ country songwriter responsible for over 65 million cd sales!
