NYC: HEDDA LETTUCE IN HER SUMMER SERIES AT THE MET
Hedda Lettuce brings her summer series show to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Monday, September 24th at 9:30 pm. Hedda Lettuce, accompanied on piano by the gifted Paul Leschen, will take you on a musical journey back to a time when women experimented with gender and wore their hair as big as their hearts, to a time when wearing blue eyeliner and gold lame was not a sin and when all a woman needed to feel safe were pair of shoulder pads, dynasty on the TV and can oftab. This will be an hour-long adventure honoring the songs that definedthe 80s generation and inspired Hedda to be the glamorous vixen she istoday. Songs from Annie Lennox, Tina Turner and Madonna laced with Hedda's artful reinterpretation and songs from other eras that cannot be overlooked. Lettuce, the six-time Drag Queen of the Year Award-winner (HX magazine), has received national acclaim for her poised characters, startling satire and original music. Hedda lures you into the funniest scenarios on stage with her ultra-candid, shimmering wit. Drag-debutant, Miss Lettuce, has established herself as New York City's premiere queen in classic cabaret venues such as Caroline's on Broadway, FEZ and her classic movie night at the Clearview Chelsea. She has worked on such networks as Comedy Central, MTV and HBO, and in a handful of off-broadway plays. Hedda's comedy projects include her stand-up tour deforce, The Hedda Lettuce Show; The Dixie Chicks with Dicks, the country-singing drag trio; and Lettuce Rejoice, the annual Chelsea holiday spectacular. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
