Grammy nominated American-born vocalist Stacey Kent will perform at BIRDLAND(315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080 - ) Tuesday through Saturday, June 12th through 16th with shows at 8:30 & 11:00 pm. Ms. Kent has become one of the world's foremost jazz singers, earning international fame and critical acclaim for her captivating voice and style. Whether she is singing a sultry French chanson, a timeless American jazz standard, or a cool Brazilian Samba in Portuguese, Stacey always perfects the universal language of romance. "Raconte-Moi," released in June 2010 on Blue Note Records features 12 all-French chansons. Her other best-selling albums include "Breakfast on the Morning Tram" (2007) and "The Boy Next Door" (2003) both of which achieved Gold status. Stacey has been honored with a string of awards, including the 2001 British Jazz Award and 2002 BBC Jazz Award for 'Best Vocalist,' the 2004 Bistro Award for best live performance and the 2006 "Album of the Year" for Jim Tomlinson's album, 'The Lyric' on which she was the featured vocalist. There is a $40 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.'
