NYC: LUA HADAR & BAND RELEASE NEW CD AT SOMETHIN' JAZZ CLUB
Fresh from their Yoshi's debut, vocalist Lua Hadar with her band TWIST release their new CD, Like A Bridge, Saturday, April 14th, with sets at 7:00 & 9:00 pm at SOMETHIN' JAZZ CLUB (formerly MILES CAFE) (212 East 52nd Street, 3rd floor, NYC - 212-371-7657). The show will feature an eclectic mix from the band's signature "jazz without borders" repertoire, sung in several languages by multi-lingual vocalist Lua Hadar. The set list includes several tunes from the band's new CD, Like A Bridge, recently recorded at the legendary Fantasy Studios, Berkeley. The band features Music Director/Arranger Jason Martineau on piano with New York players Tom Hubbard on bass, Vince Cherico on drums and Mark Vinci on reeds. Lua Hadar is a multi-lingual vocalist and actor, a teaching artist and an independent producer. She has a lifelong commitment to cultural exchange and has enjoyed collaborations in Bali, France, Italy, Japan, Russia, Switzerland and Thailand. The mission of her band, TWIST, is to create world harmony through music. A unique and original vocalist with a soaring range, Lua interprets lyrics in several languages with a charming, swinging delivery, as well as passionate commitment and humor. She has appeared at Yoshi's Oakland, The Fairmont Hotel, The Palace of the Legion of Honor, San Francisco's Rrazz Room, The Plush Room and Jazz at Pearl's, New York's Iridium Jazz Club and Cornelia Street Cafe, the Swan Bar in Paris, Theatre Les Tisserands in Lille, France, and at the Bangkok International Festival of Dance and Music. There is a $10 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.
