NYC: AMRA-FAYE WRIGHT MAKES METROPOLITAN ROOM DEBUT
Amra-Faye Wright will appear at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Monday, December 27th at 9:30 pm; Wednesday, December 29th at 9:30 & 11:00 pm; and Thursday, December 30th at 11:00 pm. Amra-Faye's performing career grew unconventionally from the farmlands of her native South Africa to the international stage, resulting in a versatile and eclectic performance style. She has worked in many musical genres, but has returned again and again to her love of cabaret. Her most rewarding successes include: "It's Not Where I Start"(FNB Vita Award); "Rouge Pulp"(FNB Vita Award) and "Drinks on Me". After performing numerous contracts in the role of Velma Kelly on Broadway, she is thrilled to make her NY cabaret debut at the Metropolitan Room with Music Director/Arranger, Mark Hummel, who has written Cabaret Acts for Chita Rivera (Feinsteins), Marcia Lewis (Rainbow & Stars), Karen Akers (Carnegie Hall), and Julie Wilson (Algonquin). There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
