The Diane Marino Quartet will make their debut performance at "Musical Mondays" at the elegant LE CIRQUE CAFE (151 East 58th Street, NYC - 212-644-0202) on Monday, February 10th at 8:00 pm. They will perform an evening of classic Jazz standards and beautiful Brazilian Bossa Nova and Samba. Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. He is accompanied by Tom Nelson, Musical Director and Piano; Tom Kirchmer, Bass; and Peter Grant, Drums. The show is directed by Eric Michael Gillett. Bob O'Hare made his cabaret debut in May of 2009 with "Home: A Musical Journey." But soon after, Mr. O'Hare took a very serious fall, and is still in recovery today. As soon as he could, he began working with Eric Michael Gillett, his director, and the Tom Nelson Trio. The healing process continues, yes, but so does the music! Her father would, throughout her youth, always invite friends over for nightly jam sessions where Ana listened and analyzed the deep artistic roots of her music. In this atmosphere, she quickly picked up her father's impressive blues and soul record collection, grabbed his guitar and went to work at a young age of 15. Since then, Ana Popovic has developed into an phenomenal guitarist/vocalist who currently resides in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The Ethnic Heritage Ensemble will perform at BOHEMIAN CAVERNS (2001 Eleventh Street N.W., Washington, DC - 202-299-0800) on Sunday, February 9th at 7:00 & 8:30 pm. Formed by Kahil El'Zabar, the band first performed at Child City Arts Center, Chicago in 1973, a year after he had returned from the University of Ghana. His goal was to combine concepts of African American music making with the earlier roots of traditional African music and make it something new. After 35 years, this legendary band is still serving the people worldwide with their special brand of 21st century Griot music. Their music truly feeds the Soul! There is $20 cover.

Legendary Blues guitarist and vocalist Sleepy Labeef makes his BETHESDA BLUES & JAZZ SUPPER CLUB(7719 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD - 240-330-4500) debut with the Daryl Davis Band on Sunday, February 9th. at 7:30 pm. For half a century, Sleepy LaBeef has lived his life on stages, in honky-tonks, and on the road. He has released records in six different decades and has had chart success as far back as the sixties and as recently as the year 2000. Sleepy LaBeef has shared bills with practically every great in music history: Elvis Presley, George Jones, Roy Orbison, Wanda Jackson, Carl Perkins, has numbered in his band over five hundred people (including the likes of Doug Kershaw, Kenny Rogers, Glen Campbell, D.J. Fontana, and Grady Martin), and has been an admitted influence to such a variety of people as Brian Setzer, Bruce Springsteen, and the Beatles. As significant as his recording career has been, it is the live Sleepy LaBeef that is important. Today, at 76, Sleepy still performs two hundred shows a year, and his live sets are remarkable. On March 2, 1995, a musical phenomenon opened on Broadway. Smokey Joe's Cafe: The Songs of Leiber & Stoller would go on to run 2,036 performances and continue to electrify audiences around the world. On Sunday, February 9th at 7:00 & 9:30 pm, 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) will present a one night only reunion featuring members of the original Broadway company of this swingin' hit show, including Adrian Bailey, Brenda Braxton, DeLee Lively, Deb Lyons, Frederick Owens & Darryl Williams, Ken Ard, Ramona Keller, and Michael Park. Born and raised in Minnesota, Harms has relocated to New York City, where she made her jazz club debut in 2010 to a packed house in the Village's The Bar Next Door. After returning to the USA from a highly-successful appearance at The Sortland Jazz Festival in Norway, Nancy later appeared at The Rockwood Music Hall in Nyc, Bob Egan's New Hope in New Hope, PA., and a series of performances with trombone legend Wycliffe Gordon, with whom she appeared at New York City's Kitano in March 2013. Recently returning from a series of concerts and workshop appearances in Torino, Italy, additional upcoming shows for Nancy this coming spring and early summer will include performances at New York City's Bar Next Door, Cornelia St. Cafe, Zinc Bar , Smalls Jazz Club, and further appearances & recording sessions with Wycliffe Gordon. NYC: ARTURO O'FARRILL AFRO LATIN JAZZ ORCHESTRA SUNDAYS

Grammy Award winning pianist, composer and educator Arturo O'Farrill brings his Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra to BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Sundays at 9:00 & 11:00pm. Called the leader of the "first family of Afro-Cuban Jazz", O'Farrill was born in Mexico and grew up in New York City. Son of the late, great composer Chico O'Farrill, Arturo was Educated at Manhattan School of Music, Brooklyn College Conservatory and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. He played piano in Carla Bley's Big Band from 1979 through 1983 and earned a reputation as a soloist in groups led by Dizzy Gillespie, Steve Turre, Freddy Cole, Lester Bowie, Wynton Marsalis and Harry Belafonte. The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra is the resident large format ensemble of the nonprofit Afro Latin Jazz Alliance (ALJA) founded by Arturo O'Farrill in 2007 and dedicated to preserving the music and heritage of big band Latin jazz, supporting its performance for new audiences, and educating young people in the understanding and performance of this important cultural treasure. The Ron Carter Quartet (Ron Carter, bass; Renee Rosnes, piano; Payton Crossley, drums; and Rolando Morales-Matos, percussion) will perform at THE BLUE NOTE (131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592) on Tuesday through Sunday, February 4th through 9th with shows at 8:00 & 10:30 pm. Ron Carter is among the most original, prolific, and influential bassists in jazz. With more than 2,000 albums to his credit, he has recorded with many of the music's greats: Tommy Flanagan, Gil Evans, Lena Horne, Bill Evans, B.B. King, the Kronos Quartet, Dexter Gordon, Wes Montgomery, and Bobby Timmons. Carter has lectured, conducted, and performed at clinics and master classes, instructing jazz ensembles and teaching the business of music at numerous universities. He was Artistic Director of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Studies while it was located in Boston and, after 18 years on the faculty of the Music Department of The City College of New York, he is now Distinguished Professor Emeritus although, as a performer, he remains as active as ever. NYC: DANNY SERAPHINE'S CTA, FEATURING BILL CHAMPLIN & LARRY BRAGGS

Pioneering jazz-rock drummer and composer Danny Seraphine will perform at THE IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB (1650 Broadway, NYC - 212-582-2121) on Thursday through Sunday, February 6th through 9th with shows at 8:30 & 10:30 pm. Seraphine is a founding member of Chicago. Worldwide the iconic group has sold over 122 million albums, and, just domestically, earned 22 gold, 18 platinum, and 8 multi-platinum albums. In 1990, after 23 years in the group, Seraphine and Chicago had a jarring parting of ways, and he left music behind for 15 years. But a call to play a benefit show for a fellow drummer pulled him out of seclusion and sparked a creative rebirth. Today, Seraphine looks forward with Sacred Ground (Street Sense), the sophomore record from his jazz-rock powerhouse group CTA - often described as "Chicago on steroids" - and he makes peace with his past with the refreshingly candid memoir Street Player: My Chicago Story (Wiley). Drummer Gerry Gibbs and His All-Star Thrasher Big Band pays tribute to his father, jazz and vibraphone icon Terry Gibbs at DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) on Thursday through Sunday, February 6th through 9th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. Terry Gibbs' career included tours and performances with leaders like Buddy Rich, Woody Herman, Benny Goodman, Max Roach, Dizzy Gillespie, and Tito Puente, to name a select few. In addition to his prestige as one of the greatest vibraphonists of all time, Terry Gibbs was especially recognized as a bandleader, winning Best Quartet, Best Big Band, Best Band Leader, and of course, "Best Band in the World" in major polls. Gibbs' compositions have been recorded by icons including Cannonball Adderley and Count Basie, and the top-shelf musicians featured in this tribute will maintain this ongoing legacy. Featuring modern giants, including Tom Harrell, Nicholas Payton, Paquito D'Rivera, and many more, we can't think of a better way to honor this quintessential member of jazz history. The New Orleans Swamp Donkeys Traditional Jass Band will present a Sunday Mardi Gras Brunch atTHE BLUE NOTE (131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592) on Sunday, February 9th starting at 11:30 am. The Swamp Donkeys play traditional jazz, blues, jass originals, vaudeville, modern jazz adaptations, and many other jazz and New Orleans-derived styles. They are extremely versatile. The Andrew McAnsh Duo performs at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Sunday, February 9th at 12:30 pm as part of the club's Young Artist Brunch Series. Andrew McAnsh's musical life began when he was given a set of drums for his 10th birthday. He practised under his father's direction, and the trumpet soon followed as he quickly established himself in the musical community of his hometown, Cambridge, Ontario. He then began playing and hosting festivals and events in his teenage years in the Waterloo area, on both trumpet and drums. After leaving his hometown, Andrew attended Humber College, playing in the top studio ensembles under the direction of Pat LaBarbera, Denny Christianson, Brian O'Kane and Al Kay; at Humber he has had the chance to perform with world-class musicians such as Chris Potter, Dave Holland, Terence Blanchard, Jack DeJohnette and the LaBarbera brothers.
