WEDNESDAY NIGHT IN NYC: ONE NIGHT ONLY: "THE THINGS WE DO FOR LOVE" BY MEMBERS OF THE NATIONAL TOUR OF "42ND STREET" - MAY 25th
The music of songwriter Noel Katz, "Things We Do For Love", a comedic take on love in the modern age, will be presented at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Wednesday, May 25th at 7:00 pm, featuring cast members from the current national tour of "42nd Street". The show is directed by Justin Boccitto (Group Theatre Too) and music directed by Noel Katz and Alec Bart and features the talents of Steven Bidwell, Britte Steele, Tommy Joscelyn, Kaitlin Lawrence, Brady Miller and Stephanie Brooks, with Noel himself at the piano. Noel Katz is known for "Such Good Friends," which won five awards including Talkin' Broadway's citation as the season's best musical at the fourth annual New York Musical Theatre Festival, as well as "Our Wedding, the Musical" a musical he composed for his own wedding to casting director Joy Dewing in 2003. "Our Wedding, the Musical" was featured in the New York Times and was performed by the bride and groom, the wedding party, and the entire audience! Mr. Katz is also a theatrical improvisation specialist, having taught at Artistic New Directions Summer Improv Retreat, the People's Improv Theatre, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Circle in the Square and the National Dance Institute, and has composed a variety of improv based-revues for the New York branch of Second City. "Things We Do For Love" is produced by Chappetto Square Productions in association with The Group Theatre Too. There is a $17 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
