DUNELLEN, NJ: PEACHES AND CRIME BRING THEATRE AND MUSIC BACK TO RADIO THEATER
You Choose The Action Murder Mystery Before Live Audience

For years, the all-original Vaudeville variety musical act Peaches and Crime has been bringing a revival of a vibrant, varied, and unpredictable stage art for to stages across New York and beyond. But on Saturday, April 23rd at 9:00 pm, Peaches and Crime will bring their special brand of macabre music and wit to ROXY & DUKEIS ROADHOUSE (745 Bound Brook Road, Dunellen, NJ - 732-529-4464) reviving yet another neglected American art form - a live radio play, fresh from its premier at Manhattan's exclusive FEINSTEINS/54 BELOW cabaret. For decades, live radio drama and comedy broadcasts were the American public's principle and most easily-available form of home entertainment. Before television became practical but after the movies drove many Vaudevillians away from successful touring stage careers, radio brought the country's greatest performers into the homes of the public while leaving space for the listener's visual imagination to work. The comedies were invariably performed before a live audience, with the actors holding scripts and wearing street clothes, but nonetheless bringing their characters to life with the energy of live theatre. Aware that in Dunellen their primary listenership will be sitting in front of them rather than listening at home, Peaches and Crime have added an audience participation element to the proceedings, pausing the play at several key points to allow the audience to decide which choices characters will make and what course the action will take. There is a $12 cover in advance ($20 cash cover at door) - available at https://www.showclix.com/event/peaches-and-crime
