About Armelle Delaney in "Songs From My Journey Around the World": It could be said that the rich complexity of Armelle's beautiful voice is the result of the rich diversity of her life. Having been reared in Australia by a French mother and a father who holds both American and Chilean citizenship, Armelle Delaney is truly a citizen of the world! Armelle's influences range from jazz greats Carmen McRae & Anita O'Day to the queen, Ella Fitzgerald. You can hear 'tastes' of these influences in her phrasing and power. Whether belting out the Blues, caressing the lyrics of a standard jazz tune or pounding out the beat of a classic Motown hit, Armelle consistently transcends expectations. She really does pour her heart and soul into every performance, making each song her own.
About Stephanie Lynne Smith in "Miss Smith's Big San Jose Opening": "Miss Smith," pianist, producer and entertainer Stephanie Lynne Smith brings her personal brand of celebration as she headlines a night of originals and fresh performance concepts. The evening features composer Paul James Frantz, Shane Kroll (SAG-AFTRA), Johnny G, Grace Renaud, and award winning Bay Area theater darling Jacqueline DeMuro. Miss Smith burst onto the scene when her YouTube video "How to Treat Your Pianist" reached 30,000 views in its first week, and has since found her niche teaching performance classes and producing original One Act shows specifically designed to premiere new works in a palatable environment. Described as "a drill sergeant with a heart of gold," Miss Smith uses humor and a sharp tongue to guide you through this action-packed display of talent that promises to delight, entertain and impress.
About The Hotel De Anza: The historic Hotel De Anza opened its doors to the public on February 26, 1931. The original concept of the hotel began in 1929, the end of the infamous Roaring Twenties, after the West Santa Clara Development Association planned to build one of the only "first-class hotels" in San Jose. H.H. Weeks, the De Anza's original architect, designed the 144-room hotel to be built at a cost of $505,000. Together with builder Carl Swenson the construction of the ten-story building was completed in just one year. The Hotel De Anza became a renowned addition to a city once recognized for its productive agriculture. Built amongst the cherry and plum orchards, the hotel brought a certain fashionable decor and lifestyle. The hotel soon began to attract celebrities and politicians as guests.
