NYC: MINNELLI & JACKMAN AXED FROM HIT OFF-OFF-BROADWAY SHOW

After trying (in vain) to lure Tony winners Liza Minnelli and Hugh Jackman to appear on his international "hit" live-theater talk show "Late with Lance!", cruise ship worker and celebrity stalker Lance Jonathan has decided to move on. Just back in NYC after a busy month at the Edinburgh Fringe, where Minnelli and Jackman consistently didn't appear for the 25-day festival, Lance returns to the stages of the TRIPLE CROWN UNDERGROUND(330 Seventh Anenue, NYC - (lower level)) on Sundays, October 25th & November 1st at 7:00 pm. The always hopeful Late with Lance! host (played by New York writer-director-actor Peter Michael Marino) has bit the bullet - replacing Liza and Hugh with two new possible no-shows: Cher and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Peter Michael Marino is the performer and creator of Lance Jonathan's critically acclaimed cabaret spoofs All About Me! and More About Me! - which rocked the cabaret circuit in the mid-90s and led to a Backstage Bistro Award for Outstanding Achievement, and a number of MAC Award nominations. He is also the creator of Desperately Seeking the Exit which toured the world for over two years and recounted his tale of writing the flop Blondie musical Desperately Seeking Susan. In addition to directing dozens of solo comedies, Peter is the co-creator/producer of SOLOCOM at The PIT which has debuted over 150 original solo comedies since November 2013 and returns this November with over 120 new solo comedies. Late with Lance! received 5-star reviews at the 2015 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, followed by a packed performance at London's Arts Theatre West End and capacity crowds in NYC. Pay-what-you-can. NYC: FRANK DAIN & FRIENDS SING JOHNNY MATHIS IN NYC

Frank Dain will celebrate the 80th Birthday of Johnny Mathis at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, October 25th at 7:00 pm. Frank will host a special show for the benefit of CABARET CARES with musical direction by Kathleen Landis. The event features many of the songs closely associated with Johnny Mathis, that Frank performed in his critically-acclaimed show, The Magic of Mathis. From show tunes to movie theme songs to pop songs, Johnny Mathis has covered them all. But this is not a solo show! Frank has invited some truly talented vocalists to work their own magic on these songs. Eric Comstock & Barbara Fasano, Kevin Dozier, Jeff Harnar, Tanya Holt, Marieann Meringolo, Kurt Peterson, Stacy Sullivan and Lennie Watts will lend their talents to what will be a truly entertaining evening. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SALON RETURNS - THEME FOR THE EVENING: "GYPSIES, TRAMPS & THIEVESGYPSIES, TRAMPS & THIEVES"

SALON - that unique, multiple award winning, Weekly Open Mic Event, created and hosted by Mark Janas will return to ETCETERA ETCETERA(352 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-399-4141) on Sunday, October 25th from 7:00-10:30 pm. (Sign-Up Begins at 6:15.) The optional theme for the evening is "Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves". Remember, any material, on or off theme, is always welcome at Salon. Co-Hosts will be Janice Hall and Adam B. Shapiro! The Salon events are produced by Tanya Moberly. Salon is an ongoing open entertainment event in which singers, writers and musicians share their talent with each other and audience members. There are no reservations; seating is on a first come/ first served basis. All types of material, on or off theme are always welcome at Salon. They enthusiastically welcome instrumentalists, poets, playwrights, essayists, comics, illusionists and performance artists. Please limit your selections to three or four minutes in length (including introductions). Please also bring clear, complete charts for the accompanist to read. There is a $10 cash cover collected at the door and a $15 food/drink minimum (cash or credit) per person.

PALM SPRINGS: CABARET SERIES FINALE FEATURES ROSANNE HOPKINS

Rosanne Hopkins stars in "Formerly Fabulous" on Sunday, October 25th at 2:00 pm at THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER(73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731). The show marks the 6th season finale of the popular Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series presented by Les Michaels. Joining her on piano will be another local, pianist Joel Baker. Rosanne Hopkins has been performing in night clubs and theatres long enough to rack up some choice roles in regional and local productions including: Annie Get Your Gun, Gypsy, Pajama Game, West Side Story, Kiss Me Kate, Damn Yankees, Chicago, Nunsense 2, Putting It Together, Stardust, Lend Me A Tenor, My Funny Valentine for Derrik Lewis' Musical Chairs, and for Palm Canyon Theatre: Jekyll & Hyde, Valley Confidential, Pippin, The Sound Of Music, The Who's Tommy, and Sweet Charity, for which she won a Desert Theatre League Award. For two seasons, Rosanne sang and danced as one of the 'long-legged lovelies' in the Fabulous Palm Springs Follies. When not performing herself, Rosanne loves to share her passion and knowledge by teaching Musical Theatre and cabaret Technique, as well as Ballet, Jazz, Tap dance, and Voice. Tickets are $11 cash only and sold at the door, which opens at 1:00 pm with open seating beginning at 1:30 pm.
