John Lennon would have celebrated his 75th birthday on October 9, 2015. December 8, 2015 marks the 35 anniversary of his death. On Thursday and Friday, October 8th & 9th at 7:30 pm, thirteen performers will get together at DAVENPORT'S (1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830) to celebrate the musical genius and legacy of John Lennon, by presenting over 25 of his most recognized compositions in a 90 minute concert celebrating his work with the Beatles and solo career. Songs included: Do You Want to Know a Secret, I Want to Hold Your Hand, She Loves You, If I Fell, We Can Work it Out, Ticket to Ride, Help, With a Little Help From My Friends, Day Tripper, Lucy in the Skies, Come Together, Instant Karma, Whatever Gets Your Through the Night, Mind Games, Across the Universe, Imagine and more. Performing in the concert are: Elaine Dame, Elizabeth Doyle, Laura Freeman, Ester Hana, Alma Mendoza, Beckie Menzie, Tom Michael, Marianne Murphy-Orland, Daryl Nitz, Dan Riley, Johnny Rodgers, and Melissa Young with Gavin Kirk on guitar. Come celebrate John Lennon's birthday in style.
