NYC: TONY AWARD NOMINEE WILL SWENSON AT 54 BELOW
Tony Award nominee Will Swenson takes the stage at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday through Saturday, September 15th through 19th at 7:00 pm. This is his 54 BELOW solo debut! Will was most recently seen on Broadway as Javert in the Tony-nominated revival of Les Miserables. His additional Broadway credits include Priscilla Queen of the Desert; the 2009 revival ofHair, which earned him a Tony nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical; and110 in the Shade. Guests can expect a mesmerizing night full of songs and stories. Swenson will be joined by the following guest stars: September 16th - Audra McDonald (Tony Award Winner for Lady Day, Porgy and Bess and many more!)September 17th - Ramin Karimloo (Tony nominee for Les Miserables)
September 18th - Nick Adams (Priscilla Queen of the Desert)
September 19th - Caissie Levy (Les Miserables, Hair).
There is a $45-$95 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
NYC: JOANNA STRAND AND JACQUI TATE AT 54 BELOW
The sensational cabaret duo that has been taking Europe by storm, Joanna Strand and Jacqui Tate, make their 54 Below debut on Wednesday, September 16th at 9:30 pm at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551 - ). With a host of credits bridging musical worlds, the versatile Joanna Strand and Jacqui Tate take songs from all genres and craft them into mesmerizing original jazz arrangements. Joanna and Jacqui share a variety of West End and touring credits, including The Phantom of the Opera, Avenue Q, Jekyll and Hyde, Evita, and My Fair Lady, as well as the Broadway transfers of Master Class and South Pacific. This performance will feature special guest star Ann Hampton Callaway, John Bailey on piano, Romano Viazzani on accordion, Steve Doyle on double bass and David Silliman on drums. There is a $25-$65 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
NYC: JOE'S PUB PRESENTS DANIEL KOREN: THE MOST IMPORTANT THING
Comic Daniel Koren is in search of the most important thing. Together with a virtual choir of alter egos, Daniel redefines musical comedy when he appears at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Wednesday, September 16th at 7:30 pm. Koren is an Emmy nominated comic/ composer originally from Israel and now based in New York. With over a million views with his innovative videos, Koren translated his online success into a live performance. Daniel graduated from Berklee College of music and his work has appeared on Comedy Central's Tosh.O, the Huffington Post and Ryan Seacrest. There is a $15 cover.
NYC: OLA FRESCA WITH JOSE CONDE AT JOE'S PUB
Weaving musical bridges that connect traditional and modern Cuban dance music with, salsa, funk, and world beat rhythms, Ola Fresca, behind the creative energy of Jose Conde, performs at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Wednesday, September 16th at 9:30 pm. Through 10 years and 2 acclaimed, award winning albums, they have evolved a swinging, fearless tropical sound directly from Brooklyn.
