NYC: RON DABNEY: "WHAT YOU NEED" AT THE MET

Ron Dabney and the Barry Levitt Quartet are returning to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) with his new show WHAT YOU NEED, on Wednesday, January 28th at 7:00 pm and Tuesday, March 24th at 7:00 pm. Ron will perform an evening of renewed interpretations of standards and jazz that you "just can't live without." There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: JAZZ LEGEND ANNIE ROSS TUESDAYS THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Jazz legend Annie Ross continues her unprecedented, record-breaking, multi-year run at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), every Tuesday night at 9:30 pm. Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: MARTHA LORIN AND JON WEBER AT DON'T TELL MAMA

Jazz vocalist Martha Lorin and NPR's Jon Weber will present 'Songs from The American Standards Songbook' at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Tuesday, March 24th at 7:00 pm. Singer/ Lyricist/ Songwriter Martha Loren and Jon Weber, rising star of the NPR's Piano Jazz, will entertain with a program that will include standards as well as a few lesser known songs written by American composers. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: 54 SINGS CHILDREN OF EDEN

Children of Eden, one of the world's most performed musicals despite its never having been on Broadway, will be performed in concert at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Tuesday, March 24th with shows at 7:00 & 9:30 pm. The story and score are among the most beloved of all time. Experience the glory of this incredible musical in a presentation produced and directed by Scott Coulter that features composer Stephen Schwartz and members of the original cast, including Kelli Rabke and Darius de Haas, performing songs including "Stranger to the Rain," "Spark of Creation," "Lost in the Wilderness," "In Whatever Time We Have," and more. The all-star cast will be backed by a chorus of rising stars singing the songs and telling the stories of us all - the Children of Eden. There is a $35-$70 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: DINE & DANCE WITH VINCE GIORDANO AND THE NIGHTHAWKS - NOW AT THE IGUANA

Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks are back - and now will play every Monday & Tuesday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at at IGUANA'S VIP LOUNGE (240 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-765-5454). Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. In 1976 Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) was formed. A big-band historian and collector, Giordano has more than 60,000 scores in his collection. There is a $15 cover (at the door) plus a $15 food drink minimum.
