NYC: ERIC MICHAEL GILLETT: THE WIT AND WISDOM OF NOEL COWARD

Eric Michael Gillett brings to life the Wit and Wisdom of Noel Coward in his new show at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909), with performances scheduled for Friday & Saturday, October 10th & 11th; Mondays, October 20th & 27th, and November 3rd - all shows at 7:00 pm. Musical Director is Rick Jensen with Matt Scharfglass on bass and Jonathan Kantor on reeds. The epitome of wit and sophistication, Sir Noel Coward's storied career spanned more than half a century. In Man About Town, award-winning cabaret artist Eric Michael Gillett focuses on the music and lyrics of the man known as the Master. After acclaimed evenings dedicated to Harold Arlen, Stephen Sondheim, Craig Carnelia, Lorenz Hart, and his revue in development, The Amanda McBroom Project, Man About Town allows Eric Michael to focus an entire evening on the wit and wisdom of one of the twentieth century's most admired and brilliant artists. From "What's Going to Happen to the Tots," "Don't Put Your Daughter on the Stage, Mrs. Worthington" and "Uncle Harry" to "Come the Wild, Wild Weather" and "London Pride," Man About Town explores the Noel Coward musical legacy in all of its considerable glory. Eric Michael Gillett is known as a director, an actor, a singer, and a teacher. He is the recipient of both the MAC Award for Outstanding Direction and the Dick Gallagher Award, bestowed by the Mabel Mercer Foundation, for his unique contributions to the art of cabaret. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

NYC: "THIS IS YOUR NIGHT JOSEPH MACCHIA" AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) and Producer Sue Matsuki present "This Is Your Night Joseph Macchia" on Monday, October 27th at 7:00 pm with an all-star cast from Cabaret & Broadway. This is Your Night! is hosted by Metropolitan Room Managing Partner, Bernie Furshpan, and profiles a guest honoree who has contributed in some significant way to the NYC Entertainment Industry. It can include, but not limited to: photographers, writers, bloggers, press, promoters, management, publicists, directors, musical directors, producers, etc. The show presents a gift to the honorree, and includes a line-up of entertainment professionals who will share stories, song and comedy about their experiences and ends with a grand finale, a reunion. Scheduled to appear are Adrian Bailey, Aaron Lee Battle, Brenda Braxton, Frank Dain, Tom Gamblin, Marla Green, Stacey Todd Holt, Tanya Holt, Liz McKendry, Michael Lewis Mejia, Doreen Montalvo, T. Oliver Reid, Gretchen Reinhagen, Ricky Ritzel, Jay Rogers, David LaMarr Sims, and Stacy Sullivan. Musical direction by Tracy Stark. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

The Open mic night hosted by Sarah Rice & Craig Pomranz on Thursdays on the Upper West Side has changed it's shownight! BROADWAY SINGS AT THE WEST END will now be held every MONDAY night,at THE WEST END(955 West End Avenue, NYC - 212-531-4759) from 7:00 to 9:00 pm (signup after 6:30 pm). An open mic with multi-award winning hosts Sarah and Craig bring the ultimate New York experience to the Upper West Side with all kinds of talent singing all genres of music -Broadway, Pop, Jazz, Classical, all are welcomed. There is a $7 cover - no minimum

NYC: CHRIS BARRET IS BACK ON RESTAURANT ROW 

Chris Barrett has returned to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE(313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) where he is at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays in an open ended run. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. There is no cover charge
