NYC: SUNDAY OPEN MIC BRUNCH AT THE MET

Sunday Open Mic comes to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on the 2nd & 4th Sundays each month from 12:00 noon to 2:30 pm (signup ay 11:30 am). Presented and hosted by Susan Winter and Deb Berman, the "OPEN MIC AT THE MET" is not your average Open Mic since it will be presented on the iconic stage, with amazing acoustics, high-end equipment, and experienced sound engineer to help create a concert-like experience in Metropolitan Room's friendly, warm environment. Each Open Mic offers different pianists to accompany your performance. There is a $15 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: SUNDAY JAZZ BRUNCH WITH GABRIELLE STRAVELLI

Bistro Award winning vocalist, Gabrielle Stravelli, returns with her Sunday Jazz Brunch on August 11th at LE PESCADEUX (90 Thompson Street, NYC - 212-966-0021), a French restaurant in the heart of Soho. They will play three sets from 12:30 to 4:00 pm. She will be joined by Saul Rubin on guitar and Pat O'Leary on bass in this charming boite that offers a great, well-priced menu and cozy atmosphere. Award-winning vocalist Gabrielle Stravelli has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal following through her unique take on material from the new American songbook as well as classic standards by artists as varied as Pink Floyd and Duke Ellington, Dolly Parton and Johnny Mercer. A trained actor, Gabrielle has a soulful sensitivity for the story in the lyric. Gabrielle has performed on stages from Amsterdam to New York including Carnegie Hall, Iridium Jazz Club, Birdland, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Reservations are strongly suggested. No cover, no minimum.

NYC: DESMOND'S "JAZZ BRUNCH" WITH JERRY COSTANZO & HIS TRIO

DESMOND'S STEAKHOUSE (513 Seventh Avenue, NYC - 212-391-6900) presents 'Jazz Brunch' every Sunday from noon to 4:00 pm with Jerry Costanzo & His Trio, with special guests weekly. Dine on their very special and affordable brunch menu while enjoying the best of jazz, swing and "The Great American Song Book". NYC: WILLIAM PATTERSON COLLEGE PRESENTS THE PETE MCGUINNESS ORCHESTRA - CD RELEASE: "STRENGTH IN NUMBERS"

GRAMMY-nominated jazz arranger, award-winning composer Pete McGuinness leads the Pete Mcguinness Orchestra at THE BLUE NOTE (131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592) on Sunday, May 25th with performances at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm as part of the clubs Sunday Brunch series. McGuinness is a past winner of the NYC Jazzmobile Vocal Competition, past semi-finalist of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocal Competition, long-time NYC jazz trombonist (since 1987), including performances with Jimmy Heath, The Woody Herman Orchestra, Lionel Hampton, The Maria Schneider Orchestra, Kenny Werner, Roseanna Vitro, and many others. Currently Professor of Jazz Arranging since 2011 at William Paterson University, Wayne, NJ. $29.50 cover. **Price includes brunch, music and a drink.**

TORONTO: JAZZ BISTRO BRUNCH BRUNCH WITH CADENCE

Canada's premiere vocal group, Cadence, will perform at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Sunday, May 25th at 12:30 pm as part of the clubs Sunday Brunch series. Based in Toronto, this a cappella ensemble has been wowing audiences across the country and around the world for nearly 15 years. Whether performing at sold-out jazz clubs and concert halls, at music festivals, for educational outreach, or for corporate functions, the members of Cadence bring an infectious energy and uncanny verve to every song they sing. The group's four critically acclaimed studio albums, Cool Yule (2011), Speak Easy (2010), Twenty for One (2005), and Frost Free (2000) have won or been nominated for numerous awards, including three nods from the JUNO Awards and 10 from CARA, the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards. Cadence's live shows are always a hit. They feature a hypnotic blend of complex harmonies, intricate arrangements, vocal dexterity, and just plain fun. On-stage antics and audience participation are par for the course at any Cadence show, but so too is a mesmerizing display of musical genius. What these boys can do with their voices needs to be heard to be believed. The band is made up of Carl Berger (baritone and bass), Ross Lynde (tenor), Lucas Marchand (tenor), and Kurt Sampson (bass and vocal percussion). BETHESDA, MD: SUNDAY BRUNCH WITH ANGEL & FRIENDS BAND

The Angel & Friends Band will entertain at BETHESDA BLUES & JAZZ SUPPER CLUB (7719 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD - 240-330-4500) on Sunday, May 25th at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm as part of the club's Sunday Brunch series. The Angel & Friends Band is a unique team of anointed Musicians interconnected as family with the purpose of giving their audience an impactful experience while bringing God the ultimate praise. Each member of Angel & Friends also maintains their respective solo careers adjacent to their commitment to the band. The Band's sound is infused with Contemporary Gospel Jazz and Neo-Soul. Most of the band members have been working together since 2009. Angel & Friends performs throughout the Washington Metropolitan area, Maryland, and Virginia. There is a $17.50 cover - $35 includes brunch.
