Honduran American violinist, Marissa Licata, will take the stage at SCULLERS JAZZ CLUB (400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA - 617-562-4111) on Wednesday, April 2nd at 8:00 pm. Marissa is a star powerhouse soloist. Her electrifying passion and vibrant presence has been featured on international and world-renowned stages, and her dazzling intensity on stage has been mesmerizing audiences everywhere since her sold out headlining debut at Scullers Jazz Club in Boston. Drawing on World music from Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, Marissa's unique Gypsy fusion highlights universally familiar melodies with contagious rhythmic energy - a relentless energy presented with tremendous passion, heart, joy, and a stylish flair all her own. BOSTON: RAN BLAKE PLAYS SOLO PIANO

Pianist Ran Blake performs at THE REGATTABAR at the Charles Hotel (1 Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA - 617-395-7757) on Wednesday, April 2nd at 7:30 pm. In a career that spans five decades, Ran Blake has created a unique niche in improvised music as an artist and educator. With a characteristic mix of spontaneous solos, modern classical tonalities, the great American blues and gospel traditions, and themes from classic Film Noir, Blake's singular sound has earned a dedicated following all over the world. His dual musical legacy includes more than 40 albums on some of the world's finest jazz labels, as well nearly 40 years as a groundbreaking educator at Boston's New England Conservatory. In the tradition of two of Blake's idols, Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk, he has incorporated and synthesized several otherwise divergent styles and influences into a single innovative and cohesive style all his own, ranking him among the geniuses of the genre. The addition of his innovative aural based teaching approach, and the forty years he has spent influencing future generations of musicians, makes his contributions to the long tradition of jazz even more impressive. TORONTO: LATIN JAZZ NIGHT: EDDIE BULLEN CARIBBEAN JAZZ TRIO

Pianist, songwriter, arranger and producer Eddie Bullen will bring his Caribbean Jazz Trio (Eddie Bullen - piano, Andrew Stewart - bass, Larnell Lewis - drums) to THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Wednesday, April 2nd at 8:00 pm as part of the club's Latin Jazz Night series. Eddie is, in every way, a standout amongst the latest generation of multi-talented artists. Eddie's lengthy career has yielded an abundance of awards and recognition for his outstanding talents. From his first album, 'Nocturnal Affair' to his most recent Havana Nights', Eddie gives his audience a taste of contemporary jazz, flavoured with Caribbean and Latin rhythms. There is a $12 cover.

WASHINGTON, DC: BERKLEE COLLEGE NIGHT WITH MAO SONE QUARTET

The Japanese Spotlight Series, Co-Presented by the Embassy of Japan, presents Berklee College Night with Mao Sone Quartet atBLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Wednesday, April 2nd with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Born in 1991, Mao Sone started performing and composing under the guidance of his father at the age of 10.  In 2009, he performed with the renowned jazz trio in Japan "WE3" consisting of Norio Maeda, Yasuo Arakawa and Takeshi Inomata. After their performance, they recorded the collaborative album, "The Legends of Jazz Trio meets Mao".  In 2010, Mao was granted a full scholarship to attend Boston's Berklee College of Music. In 2013, he joined the Berklee Global Jazz Institute and began studies under renowned musicians such as Danilo Perez, Joe Lovano, John Pattitucci, and others. During his time at Berklee, he has performed in jazz festivals both domestic and foreign, such as the Jazz Education Network conference in Louisville, Kentucky, the Monterey Jazz Festival in California, and also collaborated with musicians such as Joe Lovano. BETHESDA, MD: ORI NAFTALY BAND & BAD INFLUENCE BAND

The Ori Naftaly Band & Bad Influence Band will perform atBETHESDA BLUES & JAZZ SUPPER CLUB (7719 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD - 240-330-4500) on Wednesday, April 2nd at 7:30 pm. The band is the Best Israeli Blues Act and IBC Semi-Finalists for 2013. In a very short time this extremely talented band has gained international recognition and support by the international blues community and by an extended fan base, located in the USA, Holland, Germany, India and other countries all over the world. Within the course of two years The Ori Naftaly Band has three times toured the United States, twice toured the Netherlands, and since its release, their album "Happy for Good" has reached the top 5 in the International Blues Radio Airplay Charts, and maintained its spot there for eight consecutive weeks. The Ori Naftaly Band is booked for summer 2014 with some of the most well-known festivals such as Greeley Blues Jam Festival, Blues from the Top Festival and Mount Baker Blues Festival. The band has now relocated to the USA with Memphis, TN as its main home base. The award-winning Bad Influence features Bob Mallardi on bass and vocals, Hohner endorsed artist Roger Edsall on harp and vocals, Epiphone endorsed artist Michael "Jr" Tash on guitar and vocals, and Sonor endorsed artist David Thaler on the drums. From foreign shores to local haunts, accolades abound for Bad Influence. Washingtonian Magazine hails Bad Influence as "a part of a long and worthy Washington blues tradition". In fact, the band's performances and CDs have earned winning reviews in magazines and newspapers throughout the U.S. and abroad. Their latest CD, "Under The Influence", was a 2012 IBC Finalist for Best Self Produced CD, and a 2012 WAMMIE award nominee for Best Blues Recording, and is getting extensive airplay on terrestrial and satellite radio stations alike. FLORIDA: MARILYN McCOO & BILLY DAVIS, JR. AT THE ROYAL ROOM

Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr. will appear at THE ROYAL ROOM at THE COLONY HOTEL (155 Hammond Avenue, Palm Beach, FL - 561-659-8100) on Tuesdays through Saturdays, April 1st through 12th at 8:30 pm. Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr. have enjoyed tremendous success over the last four decades as recording artists, performers and authors. They have received seven Grammy Awards and earned 15 gold and three platinum records, and enjoyed starring roles on television and stage. Both as a duo and as lead vocalists of The 5th Dimension, one of the most popular singing groups in the late 60s and early 70s, they have performed to sold-out concerts around the world. Among their top hits are Up, Up & Away, Aquarius/Let the Sun Shine In, Wedding Bell Blues, One Less Bell to Answer, Stones Soul Picnic and You Don't Have to Be a Star (To Be in My Show).
