MATINEE CABARET TODAY IN NYC: JOHN MINNOCK AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM
John Minnock, a leading vocalist in Boston's jazz scene returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Saturday, March 29th at 4:00 pm. Following a highly successful debut at the Metropolitan Room in September, John Minnock returns for another energetic night of Jazz & Blues. Combining great musicality, showmanship and irreverent comedy, this show is an audience favorite. With a voice described as recalling Billy Eckstein & Lou Rawls, the music often branches out to R&B, Funk, and show standards, as well as spirited jazz improvisation. With his trio, accomplished musicians from both Boston and New York, John is as at-ease with the complexities of jazz as he is with working with the band, the audience, and everything involved in an entertaining night of music. John is joined once again by pianist Bill Duffy, bassist Carlos Mena, and drummer Pablo Eluchans. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
