NYC: MOTHER WANTED ME TO COME OUT IN A KIMONO

Growing up obsessed with the theatre can be a blessing and a curse. Steven Carl McCasland brings his show 'MOTHER WANTED ME TO COME OUT IN A KIMONO' toTHE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Sunday, March 23rd at 7:00 pm, with a one-night-only romp through his years as an adolescent show queen. Steven is joined by Jimmy Horan at the piano. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: TOO LEGIT TO QUIT 3: A RIFF FREE EVENING AT THE MOVIES

The third in a series devoted to classic Broadway singing, Too Legit to Quit 3: a Riff-Free Evening at the Movies will be presented at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Sunday, March 23rd at 7:30 pm. This show explores classic movie musicals from the MGM era through animated film. Performers include Bussert, D'Abruzzo, Ramey, Reiber, Paul Baswell, Cameron Mitchell Bell, Caitlyn Caughell (Newsies), Andrew Chappelle (Mamma Mia), Courtney Cowart, Nicole Dalto, Jenna Dallacco, Dayna Graber, Blair Goldberg (Carrie, Sister Act Nat'l Tour) Paul Louis Lessard, Kate Lumpkin, Bronson Murphy (CATS Nat'l Tour), Amma Osei (Rock of Ages), Babs Rubenstein (Priscilla: Queen of the Desert Nat'l Tour) and Ryan Speakman (Broadway concerts of Oliver! and Camelot). Too Legit to Quit 3: a Riff-Free Evening at the Movies, with musical direction by Joshua Zecher-Ross, features the music from classic movie musicals including: Thousands Cheer, It's Always Fair Weather, A Star is Born, Gigi, Anastasia, Beauty and the Beast, and more. There is a $15 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

NYC: ERIC YVES GARCIA AT BEMELMAN'S BAR

Eric Yves Garcia has been invited back again to perform at BEMELMAN'S BAR at the CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-570-7189) on Sundays in March at 9:00 pm. You're invited to enjoy music, stories and laughs well into the evening as Mr. Garcia burns up the keys, with Ritt Henn on Bass and Tony Romano on Guitar. Eric has several weekly bookings in New York City, specializing in the American Songbook, jazz and standards. Some of the NY spots he has played include: Firebird, Don't Tell Mama, Danny's Skylight Room, Monkey Bar, Boxcar Lounge, The Townhouse and Chez Josephine. There is a $15 cover at the bar, $25 at tables.

NYC: SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED RETURNS

A celebrated New York event since 2010, the Bistro Award-winning series Sondheim Unplugged returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Sunday, March 23rd at 7:00 pm. The show features some of Broadway and cabaret's most dynamic voices, accompanied by piano only. Expect tunes from A Little Night Music, Company, Into the Woods, Follies, Passion, Dick Tracy and more. Past special guests have included original Sondheim cast members such as Len Cariou, Victoria Mallory, Donna McKechnie & Chip Zien - so you never know who might drop in. Sondheim Unplugged is hosted by series creator Phil Geoffrey Bond, who will fill the audience in on Sondheimien facts, history & assorted tidbits of theatrical lore! Special guests for this show include Special Guest Star: Sarah Rice (Sweeney Todd's original Johanna), Katie Rose Clarke, Harris Doran, Claybourne Elder, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, Shanna Jones, Jeanne Lehman. NYC: JARROD SPECTOR RETURNS TO 54 BELOW

Jarrod Spector, who is starring in the new Broadway hit Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) to celebrate his brand new album "A Little Help From My Friends: Live at 54 BELOW" on Sunday, March 23rd; Monday, March 24th; and Monday, March 31st at 9:30 pm. This acclaimed musical outing traces the legacy of the great male singers whose vocal prowess made them the rock stars of their generations, even before rock was born. After starring as Frankie Valli for six years in Broadway's smash hit musical Jersey Boys, Jarrod wraps his critically-praised voice around the songs that have made superstars out of more than a century of tenor legends from Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson to the great Enrico Caruso himself. There is a $30-$40 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
