CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: DUDUKA DA FONSECA & HELIO ALVES AT DIZZY'S
This holiday season, the musical traditions of Rio will transform cold winter nights into sultry samba celebrations, courtesy of percussionist Duduka Da Fonseca and Sao Paulo native and first call pianist Helio Alves when they appear at DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) on Thursday through Sunday, December 19th through 22nd with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. They are joined by special guest vocalist Maucha Adnet; Anat Cohen, clarinet; Hans Glawischnig, bass; and Mike Moreno, guitar. In addition to being a member of Trio da Paz, Da Fonseca has also had a storied career as a sideman, playing with artists from Joe Henderson to Antonio Carlos Jobim. Da Fonseca and Alves will present a special program of Christmas-themed samba jazz, guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit.
