CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: LORRI HAFER IN PERFECT HARMONY: THE MUSIC OF MY LIFE

Lorri Hafer flies up from Tampa on Thursday, September 26th to perform for one night only at 11:30 pm atTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). Lorri's show, "PERFECT HARMONY-THE MUSIC OF MY LIFE" , includes songs•by Loonis McGlohon and Alec Wilder, her father, Al Ham and Marilyn and Alan Bergman, from her CD, "The Very Thought Of You", and other special songs from 'the music of her life'. Lorri's husband of 32 years, Mike Hafer, will be accompanying her on piano. Lorri started her career at the age of five on the Guy Mitchell record, "If You Ever Go Away," and as a model for the Madame Alexander Doll Company. In 1971, Lorri as lead vocalist with The Hillside Singers, along with her mother Mary Mayo, recorded the 'Coca Cola Song' - "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing." Lorri and several members of The Hillside Singers were reunited in 2003 on the PBS Special, "American Soundtrack: This Land Is Our Land - The Folk Rock Years 2." In 1981, Lorri was the opening act for organist Lenny Dee at his supper club when she visited a jam session. It was there that she met fellow musician Mike Hafer. Both of them coming from musical families, they teamed up, were married within six months, and after Lorri's tour as featured vocalist with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Mike and Lorri began a US tour, recording their first CD, "Something Cool" in 1986. She and Mike founded "The Music of Your Life Trio", in conjunction with Tampa Bay's "Music of Your Life" affiliate WGUL. In 1988, their son, Paul Hafer was born. Lorri's radio show is currently heard on weekends at http://www.musicofyourlife.com There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
