L.A.: "REMEMBERING THE CARPENTERS" RETURNS TO JOSLYN CENTER
Los Angeles singer Joanna Pitt will once again star in "Remembering The Carpenter", a loving tribute to Karen and Richard Carpenter's rise to fame in an unforgettable show on Sunday, September 9th at 2:00 pm at THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER THEATRE (73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731 - ). The show will feature stories and beautiful melodies of one of the most popular and enduring vocal groups of the 1970's, which came to a sudden halt with the tragic death of lead singer Karen Carpenter. "Remembering The Carpenters", played here in September of 2011 to rave reviews for Ms. Pitt's portrayal of the American icon. Joining Joanna Pitt on the piano will be local musical director Joel Baker, who is himself, a devout Carpenter's fan and sings back up on some numbers ala Richard Carpenter. The event is part of Les Michaels' "Sundays In Summer Series". There is a $10 cover.
