NYC: SWINGABILLY NIGHT AT THE IRIDIUM
Scobar presents Swingabilly Night at IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB (1650 Broadway, NYC - 212-582-2121) on Sunday, April 1st with the rockin' swing rhythms of Delco Nightingale (Erin Berry - vocals, Greg Phoenix - guitar, Brendan Skwire - upright bass, Eddie Everett - drums). Performances are at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Delco Nightingale is a Philadelphia-based four piece combo bringing a rockin' new twist to swing era classics. They've been playing their unique hybrid of rockabilly and big band era swing for nearly four years now, to a growing audience on the East Coast and beyond. 2011 brought the band's first trip out west to play not only the 14th annual Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender, but also the 2nd annual Turner Classic Movies Film Festival in Hollywood, CA. Their finely-tuned, high energy stage performances reflect not only their love and mastery of the genres, but the self-confidence of a band that knows they've got something fresh and vital to offer to their listeners.
