NYC: CHESTER GREGORY SINGS MY STORY PT. 1
On Monday, April 30th at 9:30 pm, Outer Critics Circle nominee Chester Gregory performs "My Story Pt. 1" at THE TRIAD (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590). Directed by Shaun Derik, featuring pianist Brian Whitted, Gregory describes My Story Pt.1 as n intimate evening sharing his story to music, with just a piano. Chester Gregory burst onto the theater scene as Jackie Wilson in the "The Jackie Wilson Story" for which he received major acclaim. His Broadway debut was in the Tony Award Winning Musical Hairspray; other Broadway credits include Tarzan and Cry-Baby. On tour in Dreamgirls in 2009 he was awarded Best Supporting Actor by the NAACP Theater Awards for his powerful performance as James "Thunder" Early. Chester is currently starring in the smash-hit Broadway musical Sister Act for which he earned the Outer Critics Circle Award Nomination. Though widely celebrated as a talented actor, Chester remains true to his love of music. This Just A Piano performance invites us to see Chester Gregory in a more personal setting. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
