NYC: OPENING DOORS PRESENTS 1965 MUSICAL "DRAT THE CAT"

NYC: OPENING DOORS PRESENTS 1965 MUSICAL "DRAT THE CAT"

Opening Doors Theatre Company presents the 1965 musical DRAT! THE CAT! at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, November 8th, 9th, 11th & 12th at 7:00 pm. The production will be directed by Jeremy Gold Kronenberg (Gallery Players' Caroline or Change) with musical direction by Ted Kociolek from a score by Milton Schafer and book and lyrics by Ira Levin. Christine Schwalenberg will choreograph. The producer is Billie Di Stefano. Cast in the show are Richard Rice Alan, Danny Blaylock, Nigel Jamaal Clark, Mark Emerson, Debra Thais Evans, Gladiss Gressley, Bridget Harvey, Emily Jenda, Jillian Prefach and Nick Reynolds. In the show, career girl Alice Van Guilder is not content to settle down and get married like the rest of the nice young ladies, so she decides to become a burglar instead - preying on the very upper-crust society she's rebelling against. Pursued by a nebbish detective, Alice - also known as The Cat! - finds herself enjoying the pursuit a little too much. Drat! The Cat! opened on Broadway on October 10, 1965 at the Martin Beck Theatre and only ran for 8 performances, leaving behind a great score including the popular hit "She Touched Me". Opening Doors Theatre Company is a New York City-based, non-profit performing arts ensemble committed to developing an eclectic mix of programming through the artistic collaboration of performers as well as playwrights, composers, directors and designers, and providing opportunities for new talent to be seen and heard. The company was formed in 2006 by Suzanne Adams (Artistic & Managing Director), along with Hector Coris (Associate Artistic Director). Tickets are $20 and must be purchased in advance online through http://www.ODTConline.org/ or by phone at 800-838-3006.
