TODAY IN NYC: WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR MADONNA'S BIRTHDAY THIS YEAR?
Melissa Young performs the music of America's most original artist, Madonna in her show "Lucky Star - Madonna at 50: A Birthday Tribute" at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Monday, August 16th at 7:30 pm (Madonna's Birthday!). Over 20 of Madonna's songs will get a musical makeover. Lucky Star is a tribute show that dares to ask such musical questions as: What if Madonna met Disney to revamp "Papa Don't Preach?" or if the next hit show on Broadway was "Material Girl: the musical"? Jazz, Country, Swing, and even Reggae all meet Madonna, America's most loved and hated pop icon. Joshua Stephen Kartes accompanies at the piano. There is an $18 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
