The MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) website is still down (as of this morning) but that doesn't mean they're not in business. Everyone is waiting in eager anticipation for the announcement of the official nominees for the 2010 MAC AWARDS, to be made on Thursday, March 25th at 1:00 pm at THE BARNES & NOBLE BOOKSTORE, NYC. It will be too late to include in our Thursday issue, but we will post the nominees on our CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE BLOG as soon as they are received and will announce their posting on our http://www.cabarethotlineonline.com/ and on Twitter.
By the way, the "straw poll" is back - and "ballots" will be sent to all members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE to make their choices for their favorite nominees. We're trying to decide whether to list the tallies on the website as the votes are received or to wait until the MAC voting closes. We might even award a (non-cash) prize to the author of the ballot received that most closely matches the final official voting. Stay tuned.
Remember, MAC voters may only vote for shows/performers that they actually have seen in performance. Since many of our members do not live in the NYC area, we won't have that restriction. You can vote based on your knowledge of the performer from previous shows, from reviews you've read, from reports from others, and just from your heart. The results will probably not reflect the actual MAC vote. It's strictly for fun.
