CHICAGO: CHICAGO CABARET PROFESSIONALS 2015 FUNDRAISING GALA
FEATURED CABARET ORGANIZATION EVENT

CCP (Chicago Cabaret Professionals) 2015 Fundraising Gala" Celebrating a Century of Song" Saluting Frank, Billie and More Musical Masters! will be held on Sunday, October 18th at 7:00 pm at THE PARK WEST (322 West Armitage, Chicago, IL - TKTS: 312-559-1212). 2015 Honorees: Acts Of Kindness Cabaret and Chicago entertainer Ron Hawking. This year the event will also honor musicians born a century ago: Billie Holiday, Billy Strayhorn, Edith Piaf, Frank Sinatra, and many more.

The show will be featuring members of CCP (Chicago Cabaret Professionals - http://www.chicagocabaret.org/ ): Anne Burnell, Mark Burnell, Cynthia Clarey, Joan Curto, Jeff Dean, David Edelfelt, Laura Freeman, Cathy Glickman, Carla Gordon, Scott Gryder, Kimberly Lawson, Beckie Menzie, Tom Michael, Bob Moreen, Daryl Nitz, Suzanne Petri, Say You Love Me (Dan Riley, Scott Simon, Nick Sula, Melissa Young), Johnny Rodgers, Cheryl Szucsits and With a Twist (Kevin Bishop, Steven Kimbrough, Paul Motondo, Nick Sula). The event is presented in two acts:

ACT 1: Cocktail Hour Show at 6:15 pm with musical direction by Howard Pfeifer and guests Arlene Armstrong, Jamie Brady, Pat Christenson, Ava Logan, and Kevin Wood. Doors open at 5:45 pm and the "Cocktail" performance begins 6:15 pm.

ACT 2: The Gala Performance starts at 7:00 pm.

HOTLINE MEMBER CABARET EVENT TONIGHT IN NYC: LOVE ... THE CONCERT STARRING DAVID VERNON

In anticipation of the forthcoming album titled LOVE, vocalist David Vernon presents 'LOVE ... The Concert' at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, September 24th at 9:30 pm. You will witness the true and intimate story of a love triangle come full circle as told through the compositions of the world's most sensitive love songs. Alex Leonard is Music Directing this concert and it will include material from David's forthcoming LOVE album, a collection of favorite love songs rearranged and given a contemporary and cutting edge vibe. This concert will include many of these songs in an acoustic and intimate setting. The album and concert are 2 thirds in the LOVE trilogy project that he is launching this year. The project will culminate to Beloved, which will be a musical theatre piece. David Vernon is a "natural talent" and his interpretations and delivery of song come from the center of his soul. Born in the Midwest but living on the east coast, David Vernon has always followed his own direction. He has created and produced many of his own conceptual concerts and has been given rise to lauded performances at The Algonquin Hotel, Birdland, Don't Tell Mama, the Laurie Beechman Theater and many other rooms in New York City. Whether performing pop,art songs, showtunes, jazz or the great American songbook David embodies a genre of musical interpretation and casts his spell on a wide diversity of listeners. Called "other worldly" by his critics, David has produced an extensive recording collection and he holds a keen sense of focus and deliberation in his work. David has been featured in theatre, clubs and on Radio and Television. But to truly capture his full essence one must experience him live. David pays close attention to the integrity and meaning of a song and weaves a spell through each piece he approaches. There is a $24 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

HOTLINE MEMBER CABARET EVENT TONIGHT IN NYC: SUSAN HODGDON CELEBRATES THE RELEASE OF HER LIVE CD FROM HER JUDY GARLAND SHOW

Susan Hodgdon celebrates the release of her live CD From Her Garland Show, "I Could Go On Singing" on Thursday, September 24th at 7:30 pm and Saturday, November 7th at 4:00 pm at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) which was performed on March 5th, 2015. "I Could Go on Singing" comprises songs sung by Judy Garland, including some of her lesser known songs as well as those commonly associated with Judy. This is a story of Garland`s life and includes tidbits not necessarily known to the public. Susan Hodgdon researched her project for over a year and wrote the show herself. Musical Director for the show is Daryl Kojak and includes arrangements by both Bill Zeffiro and Daryl Kojak. Tanya Moberly is the Director. Susan first started doing cabaret about 7 years ago and this is her 3rd solo cabaret show. In her 2012 solo cabaret show. Susan attended the 2008 Cabaret Symposium at Yale and has studied acting at HB Studio in NYC, Dance with Albano Ballet (Hartford, CT) and Voice with the Hartt School of Music Community Division (West Hartford, CT) and later continued her Voice studies with the Singer`s Forum (NYC). Susan has always had a passion for singing. She lives in Wethersfield, CT and frequently makes the trek into NYC to pursue her singing aspirations. By day Susan Hodgdon works as a Vocational Counselor with the CT. Department of Labor. She was first bit by the performing bug at the age of 10 when she performed in a traveling children's theater group, and later attended a couple of Performing Arts Camps, which gave her the opportunity to perform in Summer Stock Productions throughout New England. Susan also acted in local Community Theater Productions. There is a $5 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. Paid attendees will receive a free copy of the CD.

Lynn Henderson's memories as a singer date back to grade school when she wore out a recording of "It's Magic" singing along with Doris Day. Throughout her life, singing has been her passion. From big band vocalist to saloon singer to Handel soloist to cabaret singer, it has all been a joy! The chapters of her life from single New Yorker to wife, mom, equestrienne, businesswoman, divorcee and world traveler all contribute to her selection of songs that speak to me. Life has given Lynn a finer appreciation of great songs and a deeper understanding of what the extraordinary musical poets are telling us. Welcome to Lynn's world!

Lynn's new CD, titled "If We Only Have Love", was released on September 15, 2014. Since enjoying these songs with her audiences and wonderful musicians over the last couple of years at the Metropolitan Room in New York City and all over CT., Lynn has been encouraged to share them with a larger audience.

"The Edge of Everyday" explores our fear of change and ultimately, our acceptance of the dichotomies of Life. "The Edge" is where our resistance, our reluctance to embrace the diversity of life, collides with the inevitability of change in all the corners of our lives. Sandra considers the tension between these seeming paradoxes with poignancy and comedy, and with music ranging from David Bowie and Eric Clapton to Georgia Stitt and David Cantor, the show is a rowdy ride! Sandra Bargman has appeared in the Madison Square Garden's Broadway National tour of CINDERELLA starring Eartha Kitt. She has appeared Off-Broadway, has played leading roles in regional theaters and summer stock productions across the country, and has sung in many of the cabaret rooms of NYC. She holds a BFA from Carnegie-Mellon University. Her distinct voice can be heard in numerous radio and television commercials. Member AEA, SAG/AFTRA. Sandra is also a seminary trained Ordained Intespiritual Minister and is the founder of Sacred Stages, LLC, an organization that combines her performing background and her ministry. Sacred Stages is dedicated to encouraging everyone to explore our big questions about life and to re-discover timeless universal truths through the venue of live theater, music, media and workshops. The show is directed by multi MAC Award and Bistro Backstage Award winner Shawn Moninger. Musical Director Ian Herman will accompany Sandra at the piano with Dave Silliman on percussion and Jerry DeVore on bass. Sandra and Ian will debut their original tune, "Who's To Say?" and Sandra debuts her original rap "beat poet" tune, "Lean In Edgy Ones". There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: REINHAGEN REDUX AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

MAC, Nightlife and Bistro Award winner, Gretchen Reinhagen, will present REINHAGEN REDUX, a three performance reprise of her cabaret shows presented in 2014-15, at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) room. Performance dates are Wednesday, October 7th ("Both Sides Now"); Thursday, November 5th ("How About Them Apples"); and Wednesday, December 2nd ("A Redux Recap") - all shows at 7:00 pm. In "Reinhagen Redux", Gretchen Reinhagen revisits some of her favorite shows by remounting a new show each month - featuring a full band and all three musical directors: Tracy Stark, David Gaines and Andrew David Sotomayor, as well as multi-award winning director, Barry Kleinbort. Each show offers something different, yet each are uniquely Gretchen updated only enough to spotlight these shows from the perspective of the artist she is today. Gretchen is a multi-award winning artist, receiving the coveted TRIPLE CROWN of cabaret awards in 2010 - the Nightlife Award, Bistro Award and MAC Award - for her show "Special Kaye: A Tribute to the Incomparable Kaye Ballard" directed by Barry Kleinbort, with Musical Director David Gaines. Gretchen has worked with some of the biggest names in cabaret including Steve Ross and Karen Mason. Her shows cover a broad range of material from Musical Comedy to Blues and Rock. As both a singer and an actor, she's performed in a broad range of theaters and concert halls from the House of Blues in New Orleans to the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh, Scotland. A few of her favorite professional theater credits include Janis Joplin in Beehive, Louise Segar in Always Patsy Cline, Domina in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, the lead role of the therapist in the premiere of Mother Me Therapy at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York, and the Queen Mother in the European premiere of Rumpelstiltskin's Daughter at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. Equally at home as a teacher, Gretchen maintains a private voice studio in New York and is also available for master classes. She is managed by RNM Representation. He rides bikes and writes music. Throughout the year, Chris has been writing a bit of a show, having been fortunate enough to be asked to showcase a number of songs that have been threaded together into a story, of sorts. This is a show about the loyalty one has to oneself in terms of what one is doing with one's life despite what one should probably be doing instead. It's a show that marries the logic of truth to the promise of will - a show that fuses music with wordplay & silence with volume. It is a show least likely to make a person famous & most opportunistic recovering English major to further his standing as an artist rather than a professional. Chris is an actor, musician, singer/songwriter and improviser who performs regularly in Chicago. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: JOEL VIG - TRUMAN TALKS TENNESSE AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

In a one-man show of his own creation, Joel Vig plays Truman Capote near the end of his life at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, September 23rd at 7:00 pm. as he recalls one of themost important friendships of his life with America's greatest playwright, Tennessee Williams. A meeting at the New York apartment of Harold Halma (the photographer who shot the scandalous photo of Capote for the jacket of his first novel, "Other Voices, Other Rooms") began the Williams/Capote connetcion. Through the best of times and the worst of times, their wild roller coaster of a friendship survived from the 1940s into the 1980s. Both Capote and Williams were as eccentric as they were unforgettable and the story of their friendship (with a wild supporting cast of famous friends and enemies) is as outrages and bizarre as anything that either of them ever wrote. Seattle Based Layla Angulo is one of the only female saxophone players/ Singers/ Band Directors in the world of Latin music today. On Wednesday, September 23rd at 9:30 pm, the Layla Angulo Latin Band takes the stage at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 ). Layla began playing the sax at age 10 and grew up traveling back and forth from the East Coast to West Coast. As a Saxophonist, she spent a year on tour with Reggaeton Superstar, Don Omar, has toured with Tito Puente Jr., the Sugarhorns (Beyonce's horn players) and played with many other grammy award winning artists. Her first CD, Live at The Triple Door was a huge success, especially in South America where her song 'Que Te Vaya Bien' became an underground hit. The song, as well as her current compositions, reached Semi-Finalist position in the International Songwriting Competition, and have received other awards and high reviews. After the release of her 3rd CD, TriAngulo, one of her songs rose to #16 on the Billboard Latin Charts, was played nation-wide on Music Choice, cable television, and heard all across the East Coast Latin Radio stations. Another single off of TriAngulo, 'Sin Ti', reached over 200,000 plays on various online streaming sites. She starred in the Music Videos for both songs and 'No Se Como Olvidarte' was released on VEVO. TriAngulo is outstanding perfection by New York's top Salsa, Bachata and Merengue musicians featuring Luisito Quintero, Carlos Cascante, Gio Williams, Mastakriz LaGuira, Jose Frias, Simon Abreu, Luis Marcelo, and many other incredible players. The chapters of her life from single New Yorker to wife, mom, equestrienne, businesswoman, divorcee and world traveler all contribute to her selection of songs that speak to me. Life has given Lynn a finer appreciation of great songs and a deeper understanding of what the extraordinary musical poets are telling us. Welcome to Lynn's world!

In "Reinhagen Redux", Gretchen Reinhagen revisits some of her favorite shows by remounting a new show each month - featuring a full band and all three musical directors: Tracy Stark, David Gaines and Andrew David Sotomayor, as well as multi-award winning director, Barry Kleinbort. Each show offers something different, yet each are uniquely Gretchen updated only enough to spotlight these shows from the perspective of the artist she is today. Gretchen is a multi-award winning artist, receiving the coveted TRIPLE CROWN of cabaret awards in 2010 - the Nightlife Award, Bistro Award and MAC Award - for her show "Special Kaye: A Tribute to the Incomparable Kaye Ballard" directed by Barry Kleinbort, with Musical Director David Gaines. Sandra Bargman has appeared in the Madison Square Garden's Broadway National tour of CINDERELLA starring Eartha Kitt. She has appeared Off-Broadway, has played leading roles in regional theaters and summer stock productions across the country, and has sung in many of the cabaret rooms of NYC. "I Could Go on Singing" comprises songs sung by Judy Garland, including some of her lesser known songs as well as those commonly associated with Judy. This is a story of Garland`s life and includes tidbits not necessarily known to the public. Susan Hodgdon researched her project for over a year and wrote the show herself. Musical Director for the show is Daryl Kojak and includes arrangements by both Bill Zeffiro and Daryl Kojak. Tanya Moberly is the Director. Susan first started doing cabaret about 7 years ago and this is her 3rd solo cabaret show. In her 2012 solo cabaret show. Susan attended the 2008 Cabaret Symposium at Yale and has studied acting at HB Studio in NYC, Dance with Albano Ballet (Hartford, CT) and Voice with the Hartt School of Music Community Division (West Hartford, CT) and later continued her Voice studies with the Singer`s Forum (NYC). Susan has always had a passion for singing. She lives in Wethersfield, CT and frequently makes the trek into NYC to pursue her singing aspirations. By day Susan Hodgdon works as a Vocational Counselor with the CT. Department of Labor. She was first bit by the performing bug at the age of 10 when she performed in a traveling children's theater group, and later attended a couple of Performing Arts Camps, which gave her the opportunity to perform in Summer Stock Productions throughout New England. MAJOR CABARET EVENT IN CHICAGO: CHICAGO CABARET PROFESSIONALS 2015 FUNDRAISING GALA SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18th
FEATURED CABARET ORGANIZATION EVENT

CCP (Chicago Cabaret Professionals) 2015 Fundraising Gala" Celebrating a Century of Song" Saluting Frank, Billie and More Musical Masters! will be held on Sunday, October 18th at 7:00 pm at THE PARK WEST (322 West Armitage, Chicago, IL - TKTS: 312-559-1212). 2015 Honorees: Acts Of Kindness Cabaret and Chicago entertainer Ron Hawking. This year the event will also honor musicians born a century ago: Billie Holiday, Billy Strayhorn, Edith Piaf, Frank Sinatra, and many more.

The show will be featuring members of CCP (Chicago Cabaret Professionals - http://www.chicagocabaret.org/ ): Anne Burnell, Mark Burnell, Cynthia Clarey, Joan Curto, Jeff Dean, David Edelfelt, Laura Freeman, Cathy Glickman, Carla Gordon, Scott Gryder, Kimberly Lawson, Beckie Menzie, Tom Michael, Bob Moreen, Daryl Nitz, Suzanne Petri, Say You Love Me (Dan Riley, Scott Simon, Nick Sula, Melissa Young), Johnny Rodgers, Cheryl Szucsits and With a Twist (Kevin Bishop, Steven Kimbrough, Paul Motondo, Nick Sula). As with all live entertainment events, cast subject to change without notice.

The event is presented in two acts:

ACT 1: Cocktail Hour Show at 6:15 pm with musical direction by Howard Pfeifer and guests Arlene Armstrong, Jamie Brady, Pat Christenson, Ava Logan, and Kevin Wood. Doors open at 5:45 pm and the "Cocktail" performance begins 6:15 pm.

ACT 2: The Gala Performance starts at 7:00 pm.

NYC: LYNN HENDERSON'S "IF WE ONLY HAVE LOVE" CD AVAILABLE

Lynn Henderson's memories as a singer date back to grade school when she wore out a recording of "It's Magic" singing along with Doris Day. Throughout her life, singing has been her passion. From big band vocalist to saloon singer to Handel soloist to cabaret singer, it has all been a joy! The chapters of her life from single New Yorker to wife, mom, equestrienne, businesswoman, divorcee and world traveler all contribute to her selection of songs that speak to me. Life has given Lynn a finer appreciation of great songs and a deeper understanding of what the extraordinary musical poets are telling us. Welcome to Lynn's world!

Lynn's new CD, titled "If We Only Have Love", was released on September 15, 2014. Since enjoying these songs with her audiences and wonderful musicians over the last couple of years at the Metropolitan Room in New York City and all over CT., Lynn has been encouraged to share them with a larger audience.

NYC: SUSAN HODGDON CELEBRATES THE RELEASE OF HER LIVE CD FROM HER JUDY GARLAND SHOW

Susan Hodgdon celebrates the release of her live CD From Her Garland Show, "I Could Go On Singing" on Thursday, September 24th at 7:30 pm and Saturday, November 7th at 4:00 pm at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) which was performed on March 5th, 2015. "I Could Go on Singing" comprises songs sung by Judy Garland, including some of her lesser known songs as well as those commonly associated with Judy. This is a story of Garland`s life and includes tidbits not necessarily known to the public. Susan Hodgdon researched her project for over a year and wrote the show herself. Musical Director for the show is Daryl Kojak and includes arrangements by both Bill Zeffiro and Daryl Kojak. Tanya Moberly is the Director. Susan first started doing cabaret about 7 years ago and this is her 3rd solo cabaret show. In her 2012 solo cabaret show. Susan attended the 2008 Cabaret Symposium at Yale and has studied acting at HB Studio in NYC, Dance with Albano Ballet (Hartford, CT) and Voice with the Hartt School of Music Community Division (West Hartford, CT) and later continued her Voice studies with the Singer`s Forum (NYC). Susan has always had a passion for singing. She lives in Wethersfield, CT and frequently makes the trek into NYC to pursue her singing aspirations. By day Susan Hodgdon works as a Vocational Counselor with the CT. Department of Labor. She was first bit by the performing bug at the age of 10 when she performed in a traveling children's theater group, and later attended a couple of Performing Arts Camps, which gave her the opportunity to perform in Summer Stock Productions throughout New England. Susan also acted in local Community Theater Productions. There is a $5 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. Paid attendees will receive a free copy of the CD.

NYC: SANDRA BARGMAN IN THE EDGE OF EVERYDAY

Sacred Stages LLC presents Sandra Bargman in her show "The Edge of Everyday" at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, September 27th at 4:00 pm. "The Edge of Everyday" explores our fear of change and ultimately, our acceptance of the dichotomies of Life. "The Edge" is where our resistance, our reluctance to embrace the diversity of life, collides with the inevitability of change in all the corners of our lives. Sandra considers the tension between these seeming paradoxes with poignancy and comedy, and with music ranging from David Bowie and Eric Clapton to Georgia Stitt and David Cantor, the show is a rowdy ride! Sandra Bargman has appeared in the Madison Square Garden's Broadway National tour of CINDERELLA starring Eartha Kitt. She has appeared Off-Broadway, has played leading roles in regional theaters and summer stock productions across the country, and has sung in many of the cabaret rooms of NYC. She holds a BFA from Carnegie-Mellon University. Her distinct voice can be heard in numerous radio and television commercials. Member AEA, SAG/AFTRA. Sandra is also a seminary trained Ordained Intespiritual Minister and is the founder of Sacred Stages, LLC, an organization that combines her performing background and her ministry. Sacred Stages is dedicated to encouraging everyone to explore our big questions about life and to re-discover timeless universal truths through the venue of live theater, music, media and workshops. The show is directed by multi MAC Award and Bistro Backstage Award winner Shawn Moninger. Musical Director Ian Herman will accompany Sandra at the piano with Dave Silliman on percussion and Jerry DeVore on bass. Sandra and Ian will debut their original tune, "Who's To Say?" and Sandra debuts her original rap "beat poet" tune, "Lean In Edgy Ones". There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: REINHAGEN REDUX AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

MAC, Nightlife and Bistro Award winner, Gretchen Reinhagen, will present REINHAGEN REDUX, a three performance reprise of her cabaret shows presented in 2014-15, at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) room. Performance dates are Wednesday, October 7th ("Both Sides Now"); Thursday, November 5th ("How About Them Apples"); and Wednesday, December 2nd ("A Redux Recap") - all shows at 7:00 pm. In "Reinhagen Redux", Gretchen Reinhagen revisits some of her favorite shows by remounting a new show each month - featuring a full band and all three musical directors: Tracy Stark, David Gaines and Andrew David Sotomayor, as well as multi-award winning director, Barry Kleinbort. Each show offers something different, yet each are uniquely Gretchen updated only enough to spotlight these shows from the perspective of the artist she is today. Gretchen is a multi-award winning artist, receiving the coveted TRIPLE CROWN of cabaret awards in 2010 - the Nightlife Award, Bistro Award and MAC Award - for her show "Special Kaye: A Tribute to the Incomparable Kaye Ballard" directed by Barry Kleinbort, with Musical Director David Gaines. Gretchen has worked with some of the biggest names in cabaret including Steve Ross and Karen Mason. Her shows cover a broad range of material from Musical Comedy to Blues and Rock. As both a singer and an actor, she's performed in a broad range of theaters and concert halls from the House of Blues in New Orleans to the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh, Scotland. A few of her favorite professional theater credits include Janis Joplin in Beehive, Louise Segar in Always Patsy Cline, Domina in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, the lead role of the therapist in the premiere of Mother Me Therapy at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York, and the Queen Mother in the European premiere of Rumpelstiltskin's Daughter at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. Equally at home as a teacher, Gretchen maintains a private voice studio in New York and is also available for master classes. She is managed by RNM Representation. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
