NYC: JOEL VIG - TRUMAN TALKS TENNESSE AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM
In a one-man show of his own creation, Joel Vig plays Truman Capote near the end of his life at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, September 23rd at 7:00 pm. as he recalls one of themost important friendships of his life with America's greatest playwright, Tennessee Williams. A meeting at the New York apartment of Harold Halma (the photographer who shot the scandalous photo of Capote for the jacket of his first novel, "Other Voices, Other Rooms") began the Williams/Capote connetcion. Through the best of times and the worst of times, their wild roller coaster of a friendship survived from the 1940s into the 1980s. Both Capote and Williams were as eccentric as they were unforgettable and the story of their friendship (with a wild supporting cast of famous friends and enemies) is as outrages and bizarre as anything that either of them ever wrote.
