LONDON: HAROLD SANDITEN FLYIN' HIGH AT THE CRAZY COQS

Harold Sanditen, the suave and talented host of the Coqs' hugely popular Open Mic Night, is delighted to introduce his newest solo show, FLYIN' HIGH, ahead of its world tour, at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL(20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday, March 31st through Thursday, April 2nd. An intrepid traveller, having visited every continent except Antarctica, Sanditen finds the humour everywhere he goes, something that shines through in his performances. From Albuquerque to the Zambezi, with songs ranging from Bacharach and the Beatles to Jobim and Weill, this 65-stop world tour is packed with songs, laughs, exciting, new, jazz-infused arrangements and perhaps even a tear or two. Come find out who said "Bloody hell, mate! Aren'tcha gonna take me back to the tent and take advantage of me?!" Since bursting onto the jazz and cabaret scene in 2008, Sanditen has devised six cabaret shows in as many years and has played to packed houses from London to LA. Before finding his own voice, Harold spent 20 years as a theatre producer where he worked with actors ranging from Academy Award winners to complete up-and-comers. During these three shows, a "Live at The Crazy Coqs" CD will be recorded. This will be the first CD recorded in the venue for commercial release. Harold will be joined on stage by Michael Roulston on piano, Tom Mansi on bass and Jonathan Kitching on drums, as well as some very special guests, including Dame Janet Suzman, who makes her singing debut on March 31st & April 1st.

This quartet, led by Kourosh Kanani, is becoming the hottest gypsy jazz set-up in the U.K. Using the classic line-up of two guitars, bass and violin as the driving force, the band is taking the music to new, exciting levels, drawing heavy influences from modern jazz, hard bop, klezmer music and of course, the blues. NYC: JANE SCHECKTER AT CAFE NOCTAMBULO WITH BOBBY SHORT TRIBUTE

Jane Scheckter will bring a newly revised version of her tribute show "Jane Scheckter Loves Adores Misses Bobby Short" to CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA (178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900) on Thursdays April 2nd, 9th and 16th and 7:00 pm. Originally presented at 88s in 1996 as "Jane Scheckter Loves Adores Bobby Short", this show will mark the tenth anniversary of Bobby Short's passing. The program features many signature Bobby Short songs, as well as lesser-known works he performed during his remarkable career. Many of the arrangements are inspired by Short's charts and earned high praise from him when he came to see the show on opening night in 1996. He was inadvertently caught on Jane's performance tape, talking to the people at his table, telling them, "I adored it. It was adorable. It was a valentine to me". Jane will be supported by the trio of Tedd Firth, musical directo; Jay Leonhart on bass; and Peter Grant on percussion. The show is directed by Eric Michael Gillett. Jane is a Bistro Award winner for female vocalist and a five-time MAC award nominee. There is a $20 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

Comic/singer Joan Jaffe is moving her new show "Funnier Than Ever" out of cabaret to The Dorothy Strelsin Theatre of the Abingdon Theatre Complex (312 West 36th Street, NYC - 866-811-4111) on Sunday, April 12th at 7:00 pm. She is joined mbt musical director Matt Baker with Adam Kabak on bass. She will be singing songs by Burton Lane, Leslie Bricusse, Murray Grand, John Myer, Al Hoffman, and more. Tickets are $25. She promises to move the show to a real cabaret space soon.

Vocalist/host Harold Sanditen has started on his :world tour" with a show Tuesday through Thursday, March 31st through April 2nd at 8:00 pm at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL(20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) with additional performances scheduled for Martinis Above Fourth in San Diego; Arthur Newman Theater at the Joslyn Center in Palm Desert, CA; Rockwell: Table + Stage in San Diego, CA; Society Cabaret in San Francisco, CA; The Metropolitan Room in NYC; Club RaYE in Paris, FRANCE; with a final stop in Kotor, MONTENEGRO!

Vickie Phillips will take her show out of a cabaret room to a library space on Sunday, April 26th at 1:00 pm. The place to be is THE SPRINGFIELD DOWNTOWN LIBRARY (220 State Street, Springfield, MA - 413-263-6828) as part of their Spring Concert Series. Musical director is Michael Rheault. Free admission.

On Thursday, April 2nd, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, New York's DRAMA BOOK SHOP (250 West 40th Street - near Eighth Avenue, NYC) will host the launch of the new book about a boy who grew up at Manhattan's Algonquin Hotel, Michael Elihu Colby (a real-life counterpart to Eloise of the Plaza)! Performing will be stars of the Algonquin's Oak Room, Steve Ross (who opened the room), Broadway's Tovah Feldshuh, and K.T. Sullivan (now head of the Mabel Mercer Foundation and Lincoln Center Cabaret Convention). Other guest stars (singing numbers from Colby shows) include Tony Sheldon (PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT), Klea Blackhurst (EVERYTHING THE TRAFFIC WILL ALLOW), Christina Bianco (FORBIDDEN BROADWAY), Jessica Grove (A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC), Michael Winther (MAMA MIA!) and Jack Urbont (Emmy winning composer). The musical director is Michael Lavine. And there will be refreshments, lots of Algonquin alumni, and book signings.

Jazz Vocalist/ Instrumentalist Daryl Sherman is back in Tokyo, Japan where she will be performing every night at THE TABLEAUX LOUNGE (Sunroser Daikanyama B1, Shibuya, Japan 150-0033 - +81 3 5489 2202 ) through May 30th, with special shows on April 7th & 28th to salute jazz stars Billie Holiday and Blossom Dearie.

"Pompie's Place," a unique pop-up blues supper-club is taking up residence at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) in April. Produced by Arthur Pompesello, "Pompie's Place" is an immersive nightclub experience transporting audiences to a mythic blues room of another time and place, in which the food is hot and the music even hotter! The five scheduled performances are Sunday & Monday April 12th & 13th, both at 7:00 pm; Sunday May 10th (Mother's Day) at 1:00 pm; Monday May 11th at 7:00 pm, and Thursday, May 28th at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $65, which includes a three-course Cajun meal.

Broadway and cabaret star Karen Mason joins a host of MAC and Bistro Award-winning artists singing to benefit the special needs children of PS177Q, to be held at THE ROBIN SUE WARD SCHOOL FOR EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN (56-37 188th Street Fresh Meadows, NY) on Saturday, April 25th. Other first-time performers at this benefit, now in its sixth year, are Karen Oberlin, Marcus Simeone and Susan Winter. Returning this year are 2015 Bistro Award Winner, Marissa Mulder and long-time NYC cabaret favorite Phyllis Pastore. The cast is completed by returning performers Tom Gamblin, master of ceremonies Warren Schein, and Robert Gino, a PS177Q therapist who is the driving force behind this event, which has raised over $60,000 to date. Tracy Stark is musical director with Marco Brehm on bass. The night also includes a raffle with prizes including tickets to Disney's Aladdin on Broadway, a champagne sunset cruise on a 47-foot sailboat yacht a music basket including signed CDs from the evening's performers plus many more raffle baskets. Tickets are $20 and can be reserved by calling the school at 718-357-4650.

Wesla Whitfield & Mike Greensill will perform at THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444) on Wednesday, April 1 at 9:00 pm. Their show "Sing For Your Supper: Best of the Great American Songbook". Wesla Whitfield inhabits that indeterminate zone where jazz and cabaret meet. Trained in classical music and opera, Whitfield has toiled for more than three decades to become one of the most gifted performers breathing life into that exquisite body of Broadway tunes, movie songs and Hit Parade numbers known collectively as the Great American Songbook. In 2006 Wesla and Mike moved to St Helena in Napa Valley but still spends much of their time in New York and San Francisco, working such noted rooms as the Algonquin Oak Room, The Rrazz Room, The Metropolitan Room and Joe's Pub at New York's Public Theater, Wesla has also appeared in concert at NY Town Hall, Avery Fisher and Carnegie Hall. In 1996 Wesla had the honor to perform at the White House for Hillary Clinton. With her deft sense of time and uncanny ability to connect with the emotional truth in a lyric, the jazz world has had no qualms about embracing her as one of its own. Working with pianist/arranger Mike Greensill, the two released their 19th recording 'Message From the Man In The Moon' in December of 2007. There is an $80 cover that includes all tax, tip dinner & show.

This show celebrates his 10th Anniversary as a cabaret performer. He has appeared in musical theatre productions throughout the US and has toured domestically and internationally in concert performances with Teri Ralston, Karen Mason, Dale Kristien, Andrea Marcovicci, Wesla Whitfield and Eartha Kitt. Lorenson is best known for his critically acclaimed tributes to two American musical icons, Tony Bennett and Bobby Darin. These one man celebrations of the lives and music have played to sold out houses across the country. PALM BEACH, FL: TOMMY TUNE AT THE ROYAL ROOM

Broadway's only 9-time winner of the prestigious Tony Award, Tommy Tune, returns to THE ROYAL ROOM at THE COLONY HOTEL (155 Hammond Avenue, Palm Beach, FL - 561-659-8100 ) on Tuesday through Saturday, March 31st through April 11th at 8:00 pm. Tune is widely recognized as one of the world's most prolific director/ choreographers, who has enchanted audiences over the past 50 years with his charisma, vision and innovation. A native Texan, Mr. Tune began his career as a dancer in the Broadway shows Baker Street, A Joyful Noise and How Now Dow Jones. He would soon step out of the chorus and into a principal role in the Broadway musical Seesaw, which won him his first Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. His first Broadway directing and choreography credits were for the original production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Tune has been honored with an unprecedented nine Tony Awards celebrating him as a performer, choreographer and director (Best Actor in a Musical for My One and Only, Best Featured Actor in a Musical for Seesaw, Best Choreography for A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine, My One and Only, Grand Hotel and The Will Rogers Follies, and Best Direction of a Musical for Nine, Grand Hotel and The Will Rogers Follies). In addition, Tune has been awarded eight Drama Desk Awards, three Astaire Awards and the Society of Directors and Choreographers' George Abbott Award for Lifetime Achievement. Film credits include Hello Dolly and The Boyfriend, and he made his Las Vegas debut as the star of EFX at the MGM Grand Hotel. Tune is the recipient of The National Medal of Arts, the highest honor for artistic achievement given by the President of the United States, and he has been honored with his own star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2009, he was designated a Living Landmark by the New York Landmarks Conservancy. This is Mr. Tune's second appearance at The Colony Hotel's Royal Room. For each guest there will be a $90 cover charge Tuesday through Thursday, and a $110 cover charge on Friday & Saturday, plus a $20 minimum for food and beverage; $110 cover charge for premium seating on Tuesday through Thursday and $130 on Friday and Saturday.

Gretchen Reinhagen will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, April 1st at 7:00 pm. Gretchen is a multi-award winning artist, receiving the coveted "Triple Crown" of cabaret awards in 2010 - the Nightlife Award, Bistro Award and MAC Award - for her show "Special Kaye: A Tribute to the Incomparable Kaye Ballard". Gretchen has worked with some of the biggest names in cabaret including Steve Ross and Karen Mason. Her shows cover a broad range of material from Musical Comedy to Blues and Rock. As both a singer and an actress, she's performed in a broad range of theaters and concert halls from the House of Blues in New Orleans to the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh, Scotland. A few of her favorite professional theater credits include Janis Joplin in Beehive, Louise Segar in Always Patsy Cline, Domina in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, the lead role of the therapist in the premiere of Mother Me Therapy at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York, and the Queen Mother in the European premiere of Rumpelstiltskin's Daughter at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. NYC: GRETCHEN REINHAGEN AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Gretchen Reinhagen will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, April 1st at 7:00 pm. Gretchen is a multi-award winning artist, receiving the coveted "Triple Crown" of cabaret awards in 2010 - the Nightlife Award, Bistro Award and MAC Award - for her show "Special Kaye: A Tribute to the Incomparable Kaye Ballard". Gretchen has worked with some of the biggest names in cabaret including Steve Ross and Karen Mason. Her shows cover a broad range of material from Musical Comedy to Blues and Rock. As both a singer and an actress, she's performed in a broad range of theaters and concert halls from the House of Blues in New Orleans to the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh, Scotland. A few of her favorite professional theater credits include Janis Joplin in Beehive, Louise Segar in Always Patsy Cline, Domina in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, the lead role of the therapist in the premiere of Mother Me Therapy at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York, and the Queen Mother in the European premiere of Rumpelstiltskin's Daughter at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. Equally at home as a teacher, Gretchen maintains a private voice studio in New York and is also available for master classes. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Wesla Whitfield & Mike Greensill will perform at THE GARDENIA (7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444) on Wednesday, April 1 at 9:00 pm. Their show "Sing For Your Supper: Best of the Great American Songbook". Wesla Whitfield inhabits that indeterminate zone where jazz and cabaret meet. Trained in classical music and opera, Whitfield has toiled for more than three decades to become one of the most gifted performers breathing life into that exquisite body of Broadway tunes, movie songs and Hit Parade numbers known collectively as the Great American Songbook. In 2006 Wesla and Mike moved to St Helena in Napa Valley but still spends much of their time in New York and San Francisco, working such noted rooms as the Algonquin Oak Room, The Rrazz Room, The Metropolitan Room and Joe's Pub at New York's Public Theater, Wesla has also appeared in concert at NY Town Hall, Avery Fisher and Carnegie Hall. In 1996 Wesla had the honor to perform at the White House for Hillary Clinton. With her deft sense of time and uncanny ability to connect with the emotional truth in a lyric, the jazz world has had no qualms about embracing her as one of its own. Working with pianist/arranger Mike Greensill, the two released their 19th recording 'Message From the Man In The Moon' in December of 2007. SAN FRANCISCO: RUSS LORENSON - A LITTLE TRAVELIN' MUSIC

From London to Chicago, Gershwin to Mercer, Paris to New York and Mancini to Manilow, Russ Lorenson takes audiences on the musical journey of his life via the great standards of the 20th century with his show "A Little Travelin' Music" at FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063) on Wednesday, April 1st at 7:00 pm. This show celebrates his 10th Anniversary as a cabaret performer. Russ makes the trip unique, fresh and exciting as he tells the story of his odyssey from being a full time stage performer to a high tech executive with a million mile travel schedule and back again to the stage. He has appeared in musical theatre productions throughout the US and has toured domestically and internationally in concert performances with Teri Ralston, Karen Mason, Dale Kristien, Andrea Marcovicci, Wesla Whitfield and Eartha Kitt. Lorenson is best known for his critically acclaimed tributes to two American musical icons, Tony Bennett and Bobby Darin. These one man celebrations of the lives and music have played to sold out houses across the country. This is the first in a retrospective series of shows performed by Russ at Feinstein's reprising his most popular shows from the past, as well as a brand new show he is creating for the series! Harold Sanditen, the suave and talented host of the Coqs' hugely popular Open Mic Night, is delighted to introduce his newest solo show, FLYIN' HIGH, ahead of its world tour, at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL(20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday, March 31st through Thursday, April 2nd. An intrepid traveller, having visited every continent except Antarctica, Sanditen finds the humour everywhere he goes, something that shines through in his performances. From Albuquerque to the Zambezi, with songs ranging from Bacharach and the Beatles to Jobim and Weill, this 65-stop world tour is packed with songs, laughs, exciting, new, jazz-infused arrangements and perhaps even a tear or two. Come find out who said "Bloody hell, mate! Aren'tcha gonna take me back to the tent and take advantage of me?!" Since bursting onto the jazz and cabaret scene in 2008, Sanditen has devised six cabaret shows in as many years and has played to packed houses from London to LA. Before finding his own voice, Harold spent 20 years as a theatre producer where he worked with actors ranging from Academy Award winners to complete up-and-comers. During these three shows, a "Live at The Crazy Coqs" CD will be recorded. This will be the first CD recorded in the venue for commercial release. Harold will be joined on stage by Michael Roulston on piano, Tom Mansi on bass and Jonathan Kitching on drums, as well as some very special guests, including Dame Janet Suzman, who makes her singing debut on March 31st & April 1st.
